Hello!I am currently a second year student at the university of Waterloo School of Architecture and I would like to work for you. I am an enthusiastic hard working individual with a Dou-ble Honours in Art History and Studio Art from the university of Saskatchewan. Part of my process is synthesizing ideas, images and philosophies I have gathered over the years and incorporating them into my designs. The following is a collection of works completed this past two years.

This artist’s residence sits on a forested ridge on Taylor Lake near Cambridge, Ontario. It serves as a retreat for artists living and working for a four week period. The de-sign focuses on the simple idea of folding white planes sitting opposite to one another and joined by a warm wooden surface. One building serves as the living and sleeping quarters, while the other acts as the studio. Given the large open windows, artists are submerged into nature allowing them to freely express themselves.

This pavilion offers its visitors a place to explore and wander through the tunneling of formed hexagonal space. Once in the center of the pavilion visitors will find four large steps that provide a place of rest allowing them to enjoy the juxtaposition of the solids and voids found throughout the space.

As part of the planned redevelopment of St. Claire Street West, in Toronto, this building borders both residential and commercial space. The main floor consists of com-mercial space which can be rented out to businesses, providing work space and an open air environment. There are three unit sizes in this loft: single, double, and family units. Each apartment has a large barn door style window which allows residents to double their living space onto the large outdoor patio.

The steel spanning structure is located in a lovely park in Galt, Ontario. the temperate climate allows the struc-ture to become two different facilities in the summer and winter seasons. It functions as an ice rink with a controlled chilling pipes running within the precast con-crete. The glass allows light into the space and prevents snowfall on the ice. In the summer time, the space can be transformed into a farmers market. It has a gap at the centre pin, to allow natural ventilation through the space. the space is versatile thanks to its modularity and simplicity. This is a study on the possible transfor-mation of Renzo Piano’s IbM pavilion.

Recline is an oasis found along the shores of Kuching, Malaysia. It is an escape designed for rest and relax-ation away from the hot and humid climate. Constructed with light weight materials from the region, including bamboo, wood, and thatch for the roof, the structural de-sign with high ceilings and walls made up of a geomet-ric skeletal cage, promotes cross ventilation. The long bench provides visitors with different levels of comfort, and the overall design allows the prevailing east winds to cool the space.

Revolve utilizes the empty urban space of the developed downtown region of Galt in Cambridge, Ontario to cre-ate units for 8-16 residents. Each unit shares a single wall with neighbouring units, forming an S-shaped curve around a courtyard which maximizes the solar exposure to each unit.
