Cover picture competition winner

2015 so far is looking like an-
other jam packed year full of
events, meets and some
amazing shows for all varie-
ties of car fans. Each month
we will have a guide to
what's on and where, along
with more info and booking
details. Car clubs will also
have their input to help pro-
mote themselves ,their
events and the charity work
a lot of them do.
McTavish Motors will be at-
tending as many events as
we can with our trade stall
selling products from Auto-
brite Direct, A.P.E & Chemi-
cal Guys and very soon our
own brand of products.
Inside each issue will include
* Product reviews / hints &
tips
* For sale section, cars prod-
ucts etc
* Business directory

cial solvent which performs in-
credibly well and is found in 90% of
commercial waxes.
These professional solvents com-
bined with our unique blend of car-
rier oils allowed us to make a 70%

tually became our winter wax.
lot of work, particularly on the car-
rier oils and scenting.
Because this wax was made with a
basic spirit available in B&Q it
smelled terrible and performed ok
at best.
As the weeks and months rolled on
we secured a supplier of a commer-

hundreds of pounds a year and tai-
lor it to my individual preferences.
After months of research we had a
major breakthrough in the shape of
a custom computer program that
allowed us to accurately calculate
the raw ingredients going into our
wax to a tenth of a gram. This ac-
curacy brought our first ever tub of
wax! Poured into an old hair gel
container this was a step in the
right direction but still needed a
Q1. Can you tell us a bit about
your brand, your company and how
you got involved in creating wax’s.
For years I have been doing my
best to keep my car clean, for me
using good quality waxes and seal-
ants were a major part of that. An
idea that had cropped up was mak-
ing my own wax primarily to save

“our first ever tub of wax! Poured
into an old hair gel container”
Q2. Where did you come up with
the name infinity?
The name stemmed from the
original idea I had which was to
make a wax that lasted a year.
That is something we are still
working on but should be within
our grasp in 2015. I also liked the
idea of a logo which was instantly
recognizable as we all know what
the symbol for infinity looks like
and give it my own subtle twist.
Q3. If infinity were to be com-
pared to any brand on the market
just now, what brand would that
be?
Being a real home grown wax
brand infinity wax could be com-
pared do dodo juice in many
ways, on the other hand our most
popular wax “super gloss” has
been compared to Auto Glym HD
wax and at a quarter of the price
it’s an encouraging statement.
One thing is for sure that there is
much more to come in 2015 and
I’m sure this will be the time for
infinity to shape its self into the
market. I am determined however
to keep the “local and friendly”
feel with an open door policy for
all our customers and will always
be happy to listen to suggestions.
and other financially motivated indi-
viduals.
We are all about just making a great
product that everyone can afford and
enjoy using, the majority of our
meetings are held at car meets where
we can mingle with the end user and
get a feel for what people want and
give demonstrations of products al-
ready available.
Q5. What goals would you like to
achieve next year?
I would like to see infinity fit com-
fortably into the market and believe
this is possible with our unique take
on car care, unlike so many large
companies where decisions are made
from the top down by accountants
Infinity Wax

realizing it is hard as concrete before
its blended.
One that continues to frustrate is the
cooling process, it’s such a delicate
stage and we have tied air cooling
(like Auto Glym) and water cooling
(Like most others) and had issues
with both.
Q4. Have you come across any is-
sues when creating your blend that
had you frustrated?
There have literally been so many I
could write a book! However a cou-
ple that spring to mind are, Ruining
a set of new John Lewis pots trying
to melt pure carnauba wax and not

Q6. What’s been your biggest mile-
stone so far?
I would say so far the addition of our
super gloss wax has been a massive
success, for 2 reasons. 1 the formula-
tion of natural virgin oils and fluoro-
polymers has allowed us to create an
incredibly durable easy to use wax at
low cost, 2 the base ingredients are
so versatile we have used them as a
staple recipe to create other soft
waxes like pink shimmer and mid-
night glow.
Q7. What kind of car do you drive
and why?
I drive a 2009 BMW 318D Msport,
it gives a good combination of han-
dling, torque and fuel economy
while being really comfortable. Pre-
viously I had a 1996 MKIV Toyota
Supra.
Q8. If you had the money to buy any
car what would it be?
Something daft, a 458 Italia with a
rocket bunny kit, or maybe a TRD
3000 supra if I could find one.

stain any plastics or trims either and

Doesn’t stain and smells great. An-

thin even layer ( I prefer circular

and work your way round the car.
By the time you have got to where
you started the cherry glaze should

buff off the cherry glaze until you
can see the shine. From £13 for a
