el chepe, the train, leaves losmochis sinaloa early morning andpasses winding through parts of

the copper canyon to its final destination chihuahua. at km. 622it stops for a while at the small

village of divisadero. Here theviews are spectacular.

arturo de la vega osuna was born in elquelite sinaloa and lives and paints in asmall café in mazatlán. he has a great nameand has seen extraterrestrials and paintsthem. he knows they exist. he also paintsmexican pre-columbian culture as he sees

it. he has had no formal fine art trainingand paints downright strange and interestingsubjects with an iimmaaggiinnaattiivvee use of bold

colour. he is not influenced by otherartists as he has no tv or books in his café.
