The Definition of Branding

• A trademark or distinctive name identifying a product or a manufacturer.

• A product line; identified.• A distinctive category; a particular kind.

Why is Branding Essential?

• If you don’t even know your own message and vision, how are you going to expect others to know it?

• Helps define where you have been, where you are now, and where you are going.

• It weeds out the people who don’t fit your specific set of criteria without you even lifting a finger.

Successful Brands

Why They’re On Top

• They remain consistent.• They remain relevant.• They keep their advertising relevant.• Their message is simple. (Nike; “Just Do It”)

4 Steps to Branding Yourself Online

• Find your voice online. Some good ways are blogging, posting to a video site, creating a website.

• Your content is key! What is your message? How are you saying it?

• Once you’ve settled on your message, stay consistent!

• Be responsive. Show that you care. If you show that you care, they’re much more likely to return after their initial “first look” experience.

• Take what you’re doing to the streets.• Get others interested in the opportunity or

product or service that you’re providing.• Hold meetings so people can get on the inside

of what you’re doing and get to know you more.

• Make “signing up”, buying, or your service transaction easy.
