DESCRIPTION

I recently realised that I wasn't using my time, energy and creative in the right way - I simply did too much with too little effect. Based on my own experience and a couple of books, I did a talk on how to improve efficiency and get more (of the right things) out of your day.

• First thing your should do every morning is to figure out what is most important that you get done today. Stick to this plan, and prioritise everything accordingly.

• Don’t do whatever is thrown at your, but evaluate it according to your schedule.

• Insist on an agenda for meetings and ask about urgency • Be honest about what you can get done in a day, and say no to the

other thing. • Make your own daily backlog

• We are most creative and inspired in the morning - don’t spend this time doing routine task like answering emails, doing time registration and doing scheduling-meetings. This time is for problem solving

• Book yourself out in your calendar in the morning to avoid meeting invitations

• Our entire office, our computer and our phone is set up to distract us. Turn it off and work focused for an hour at a time.
