1 Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him. 1 ในเวลานัน้บรรดาคนเก็บภาษีและพวกคนบาปเขา้มาใกล้เพื่อจะฟงัพระองค์

2 And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them. ”2พวกฟารสิแีละพวกธรรมาจารยก็์บน่วา่ คนนี้ต้อนรบั“คนบาปและกินด้วยกันกับเขา ”

3 So he told them this parable: 3 พระเยซูจงึตรสัอุปมาต่อไปนี้ใหพ้วกเขาฟงัวา่

4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?

4 “ใครในพวกท่านท่ีมแีกะรอ้ยตัวและตัวหนึ่งหลงหายไปจะไมท้ิ่งเก้าสบิเก้าตัวนัน้ไวท่ี้กลางทุ่งหญ้าแล้วออกไปตามหาตัวท่ีหายไปนัน้จนกวา่จะพบหรอื?

5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 5 และเมื่อพบแล้วเขาจะยกขึ้นใสบ่า่แบกมาด้วยความชื่นชมยนิดี

6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost. ’

7 Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

7 Now he told a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the places of honor, saying to them, 7 เมื่อพระเยซูทอดพระเนตรเหน็บรรดาคนท่ีได้รบัเชญินัน้เลือกเอาแต่ท่ีนัง่อันมเีกียรติพระองค์จงึตรสัเรื่องเปรยีบเทียบแก่พวกเขาวา่

8“Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it?

8 “หญิงคนใดท่ีมเีหรยีญเงินสบิเหรยีญและเหรยีญหนึ่งหายไปจะไมจุ่ดตะเกียงกวาดบา้นค้นหาอยา่งละเอียดถ่ีถ้วนจนกวา่จะพบหรอื?

9 And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost. ’

9 เมื่อพบแล้วนางจะเชญิมติรสหายและเพื่อนบา้นมาพรอ้มกันแล้วพูดกับพวกเขาวา่ 'มารว่มยนิดีกับฉันเพราะฉันพบเหรยีญเงินท่ีหายไปนัน้แล้ว'
