Game 6 | Road Game 3 (0-2) | Day Game 2 (1-0)

GET ONE: The Dodgers send Zack Greinke to the hill today as they
look to salvage the finale of their three-game series at Arizona. Los
Angeles needs a win today to avoid its first sweep at the hands of the
D-backs since May 6-8, 2013 and being swept in a three-game series
at Chase Field for the first time since April 7-9, 2008 (also swept in a
two-game set, Sept. 11-12, 2012). The club returns home tonight and
opens a six-game homestand against the Mariners and Rockies
tomorrow, which includes the Civil Rights Game and Jackie Robinson
Day celebrations on Wednesday, April 15.
Last year, the Dodgers were the best road team in baseball,
posting an MLB-best .605 winning percentage (49-32). Los
Angeles needs a win today to avoid being swept on the road
in a series of three or more games for the first time since
Sept. 6-8, 2013 at Cincinnati. The Dodgers dropped both
games of a two-game series last year at Detroit, July 8-9.
Yesterday’s loss dropped the Dodgers’ record below .500 for
the first time since July 9, 2013 (44-45), a span of 639 days.
GOING GONZO: Adrian Gonzalez enters today’s game with an
active seven-game hitting streak dating to Sept. 27, 2014, batting .714
(15-for-21) with three doubles, seven homers and 11 RBI in that span.
Gonzalez has a .343/.420/.649 career slashline with 20 home
runs and 62 RBI in 67 career games at Chase Field, with his
slugging percentage ranking as the highest all-time mark
among all players with 200 or more at-bats:
Highest All-Time Slugging Pct. at Chase Field (min. 200 AB)
1. Adrian Gonzalez .649
2. Tony Clark .609
3. Reggie Sanders .587
4. Troy Glaus .576
Gonzalez leads active players with 31 career home runs and
101 RBI against the D-backs, to go along with a .312 batting
average (151-484) in 136 games against the club.
Gonzalez has gone 6-for-10 (.600), including a double and a
homer, in his career against Josh Collmenter, joining A.J.
Ellis (4-for-10, two homers), Jimmy Rollins (5-for-13, two
doubles) and Andre Ethier (5-for-16, two doubles) among
the Dodgers to have success against today’s Arizona starter.
Collmenter has gone 4-7 with a 5.66 ERA (31 ER/49.1 IP) in
15 career games (seven starts) against Los Angeles.
Prior to tomorrow’s game, Wilson will present Gonzalez and
Juan Uribe with their 2014 Wilson Defensive Player of the
Year Awards. Founded in 2012, the Wilson Defensive Player
of the Year Award winners are determined using a formula
that combines traditional defensive stats with advanced
metrics. Gonzalez was also recognized last year with a Gold
Glove Award.
AT THE HOT CORNER: With Justin Turner (left index finger)
and Juan Uribe (left hamstring tightness) leaving last night’s game
due to injuries, Alex Guerrero and Darwin Barney saw their first
action of the season and one could be penciled in as the starting third
baseman in today’s game:
For Guerrero, it would be the first start of his career. The 28-
year-old appeared in 11 games last year, mostly as a pinch-
hitter, but also three games in left field, and made the club
this spring after posting a .306 batting average with three
home runs and eight RBI in 26 Cactus League games.
Last night was Barney’s seventh career appearance at the hot
corner and first since 2010, when he started four games at the
position for the Cubs. Barney batted .354 with six doubles, a
triple, a homer and four RBI in 27 Spring Training games
this year.
THE STOPPER: Zack Greinke will make his second start of the
season this afternoon after allowing just one run on two hits in 6.0
innings in a no-decision against the Padres on Tuesday. Since joining
the Dodgers in 2013, Greinke has gone 5-0 with a 1.59 ERA (8
ER/45.1 IP) in seven starts against Arizona, including winning all four
starts at Chase Field, where he is 4-0 with a 1.03 ERA (3 ER/26.1 IP).
He remains unbeaten in his last 15 starts against NL West opponents,
posting a 12-0 record with a 1.74 ERA (19 ER/98.1 IP) against the
division since the start of the 2014 season.
Since joining the Dodgers, Greinke has gone 17-6 with a
2.31 ERA (49 ER/190.2 IP) in 29 starts following a Los
Angeles loss. The team has gone 21-8 in those games.
