Considers if the treatment is effective and that scientific evidence is available to prove the safety of the product/therapy.
Is knowledgeable about the actual or potential danger including side effects of the CAM treatment
Professional Standards
Natural products marketed as dietary supplements can be unsafe and may interact with prescription medication
Dietary supplements are not standardized, whereby varying from one batch to the next.
Dietary supplements maybe adulterated or contaminated with heavy metal
