10 There was a follower of Jesus in Damascus named Ananias. In a vision the Lord said to him, "Ananias!" Ananias answered, "Here I am, Lord.“11 The Lord said to him, "Get up and go to the street called Straight Street. Find the house of Judas and ask for a man named Saul from the city of Tarsus. He is there now, praying.

Acts 9:10-19

12 He has seen a vision in which a man named Ananias came and laid his hands on him so that he could see again."13 But Ananias answered, "Lord, many people have told me about this man. They told me about the many bad things he did to your holy people in Jerusalem.

Acts 9:10-19

14 Now he has come here to Damascus. The leading priests have given him the power to arrest all people who trust in you."15 But the Lord Jesus said to Ananias, "Go! I have chosen Saul for an important work. I want him to tell other nations, their rulers, and the people of Israel about me.

Acts 9:10-19

16 I will show him all that he must suffer for me."17 So Ananias left and went to the house of Judas. He laid his hands on Saul and said, "Saul, my brother, the Lord Jesus sent me. He is the one you saw on the road when you came here. He sent me so that you can see again and also be filled with the Holy Spirit."

Acts 9:10-19

18 Immediately, something that looked like fish scales fell off Saul's eyes. He was able to see! Then he got up and was baptized.19 After he ate, he began to feel strong again. Saul stayed with the followers of Jesus in Damascus for a few days.

Acts 9:10-19

FEARNOT

God asks you to do something, tells you to do something, and

you’re fearful to do it because of the potential results,

implications, complications. It could be something that is

difficult all the way, to something that is perhaps even dangerous.

Have you been there?

What happens is we anticipate the future.

Sometimes we grow fearful because we don’t see a lot of

hope, and sometimes that fear causes us to be false

prophets.

About 150 times, the Bible says, in various ways, God

says, “Fear not.”

THE VISION

10 There was a follower of Jesus in Damascus named Ananias. In a vision the Lord said to him, "Ananias!" Ananias answered, "Here I am, Lord.“11 The Lord said to him, "Get up and go to the street called Straight Street. Find the house of Judas and ask for a man named Saul from the city of Tarsus. He is there now, praying.

Acts 9:10-19

12 He has seen a vision in which a man named Ananias came and laid his hands on him so that he could see again."

Acts 9:10-19

How do we know whether it’s a vision from the Lord or not

from the Lord?

1 “Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether or not they are from God.”

1 JOHN 4:1

How do you test the spirits?

CHECK IT BY THE WORD OF GOD

1

CHECK IT BY THE PEOPLE OF GOD

2

How would you respond?

God told you to do this. Now, do you remember who Saul of

Tarsus is? Good guy or bad guy? Bad guy. What’s he do? Murders

Christians.

THE VENTUR

E

13 But Ananias answered, "Lord, many people have told me about this man. They told me about the many bad things he did to your holy people in Jerusalem.14 Now he has come here to Damascus. The leading priests have given him the power to arrest all people who trust in you."

Acts 9:10-19

15 But the Lord Jesus said to Ananias, "Go! I have chosen Saul for an important work. I want him to tell other nations, their rulers, and the people of Israel about me.16 I will show him all that he must suffer for me."

Acts 9:10-19

CHRISTIAN

SUFFERING

But to be a Christian is to be sent, and what causes us not to go is that we’re fearful of what

could happen to us negatively as a result of proceeding forth to talk about Jesus, and so they both need to overcome their

fears.

29 “For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake.”

Philippians 1:29

THE VISIT

17 So Ananias left and went to the house of Judas.

EVIDENCES

OF THE HOLY

SPIRIT

Some of you are going to speak in tongues, some of you are

going to get visions, some of you are going to get dreams, some of you are going to speak the word of God boldly, some of you are

going to deeply love God’s people with God’s love.

I CORINTHIANS 12: 1 - 11

14 “If any of you is sick, come forward and the elders of the church will pray for you.”

James 5:14

CONCLUSION

18 So he came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth is given to me.19 So go and make followers of all people in the world. Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Mat 28:18-20

20 Teach them to obey everything that I have told you to do. You can be sure that I will be with you always. I will continue with you until the end of time."
