Leaves in the Fall…… compiled by Ms. Ferrell

Certain materials used in this presentation are included under the fair use exemption of the US Copyright Law. These materials have been prepared according to the educational fair use guidelines.

ObjectivesWe will learn that Autumn is another word for Fall.

We will become aware of what leaves do during the fall by singing a song and saying poems.

We will take a walk to collect different sizes, shapes, and colors of fallen leaves.

We will dictate sentences to our teacher describing our leaves.

We will draw pictures of our leaves and write words to tell about our pictures.

It is Fall (Tune of Skip To My Lou)

Leaves are changing up in a treeLeaves are changing up in a treeLeaves are changing up in a tree

Up in a tree it’s fall

Leaves are falling from that treeLeaves are falling from that treeLeaves are falling from that tree

Up in a tree it’s fall

Once a Little Leaf

Once a little leafCaught up in the breezeBlew up past the bushes

Blew up past the treesBlew up in the cold skyHigh above the ground

What happened when the wind stopped? Then the leaf came down.

Five Autumn Leaves

Five pretty autumn leavesOne yellow, one red, one green, two brown.A little breeze came by and blew the yellow one down.Four colored leaves are left up in the tree.A red leaf floated down, now there are three. As the wind whistles through the green leaf twisted looseAnd now there are two.Two little leaves, both of them are brown. One broke off and fluttered to the ground. Now we see there’s only one.The last one fell and now our story’s done.

Autumn Leaves

I wonder in September,And in October, too,

What oaks and elms and maplesAnd quaking aspens doTo make their leaves

Turn red and goldInstead of pink and blue?

Leaves In ActionThe leaves are high. The leaves are low.The leaves are blowing soft

and slow.

The leaves are up.The leaves are down. The leaves are blowing all

The leaves are here. The leaves are there. The leaves are blowing

everywhere.
