the opportunity to play in various centers & work on problem solving & interpersonal

Trips & Additional Specials Spanish will be on Monday afternoons.
Chess will be on Thursday mornings.
We will be making several trips. We will inform of the places and dates. (Central Park Zoo, Theatre Productions, Art Museums)
The city is our classroom….Trips for 2013-2014Parent Volunteers Parent will be assigned from 1-4
children. All trips will either be walking or
yellow school bus. We will always return before 1:45pm.Brown bagged lunches are easiest!
ChessChess in the classroom is a great opportunity for kids to get exposure to the game.
If they enjoy it they may enroll in afterschool opportunities to play.
Provides kids a chance to develop critical thinking skills.
Homework
Official homework packets will be distributed in January. (Optional packets are available Oct.-Dec.)
Students should be reading or be read to daily.
They should be bringing home correct level dots.
PLEASE LABEL all correspondence with place, name, class
Lunchroom-Every Moment Is a Teachable Moment!Teaching our Kids Responsibility.*For their belongings (labels) and for their food
while sitting in the lunchroom.
*Setting and reaching goals for keeping cafeteria clean.
*Parent Volunteers are most helpful when they are guiding the kids. For example: “I noticed that there are some wrappers under your table. Can we work together as a team to clean under the table?”
