GE Oil & Gas is supplying an

integrated package of pumps,

gas engines and additional

equipment to BP Iraq NV for

produced water re-injection

operations to increase produc-

tion in the Rumaila oilfield of

southern Iraq.

The GE contract, valued at more

than US$40 million, includes 10

high-pressure, axially split pumps

for water injection driven by 10

gas engines, six booster pumps

driven by electric motors, two

gas system stations for feeding

and conditioning and auxiliaries

including air coolers, control

valves and air starting systems.

The equipment will be shipped

during the second half of 2012.

featured the integration and

packaging of several GE products,

namely pumps, gas engines, gas

systems, valves and air coolers.

Weir Minerals has invested in

a new 600 sq m supply and

servicing centre in Essen,

Germany, to support its growing

customer base across Central

Europe.

Tony Locke, managing director

of Weir Minerals Europe, said:

achieving our target of expanding

our service support provision for

clients across Central Europe.”

Pump and valve manufacturer

Larox Flowsys has changed its

name to Flowrox.

The new name follows last year’s

acquisition of Larox by Outotec

Oyj. Larox Flowsys was not

included in that deal.

Flowrox has subsidiaries in

Linthicum, Maryland USA; Sydney,

Australia; and Johannesburg,

South Africa and a sales and

service partner network covering

more than 55 countries.

AxFlow Limited has opened a

new service and maintenance

facility in North East England.

Located in County Durham, the

facility will provide for pump

users throughout the North East

and Scottish Borders of the UK.

The facility is an extension to

the company’s existing service

and maintenance operations in

the Midlands, North of England,

London and Aberdeen.

The new 10002 ft. service

and maintenance centre can

accommodate pumps weighing

up to 500 kg. Facilities will

include degreasing, shot

blasting and a paint booth.

Sulzer Pumps has opened a

pump service centre in Khimki,

Moscow.

The new facility, which is

Sulzer Pumps’ first service

centre in Russia, will provide

repair and retrofit service

for industrial pumping

systems.

The new Sulzer pump service

centre is equipped for the repair

and retrofit of existing pumps as

well as the complete packaging

of new pumps. The service

engineers have experience in

local refineries and power

stations.

Grundfos Pumps has inaugurated

a new water technology centre in

Fresno, California, USA to

promote innovative water

research and sustainable

solutions.

The new facility will function as a

hub linking research with

business development and will

provide a space for government,

academic institutions and

start-ups to share and gather

information on irrigation, water

monitoring, wastewater treatment

and other water technologies.

The German pump and valve

manufacturer KSB turned 140

years old on 18 September 2011.

Company founder Johannes Klein

started production in 1871 with

the help of 12 employees and

the support of Friedrich Schanzlin

and August Becker, in Frank-

enthal, Germany.

Today KSB has more than 15 000

employees, production sites on

every continent and a sales

revenue of around €2 billion.
