Utilities Installation

February 22, 2011

All HVAC duct ends are sealed before installation to maintain air sanitization according to LEED standards.

HVAC ducts are first installed to the plaza open air mechanical vault.

The network progressed southward to various locations.

HVAC ducts shown here are connected to the nearly completed elevator.

Other utilities network such as water and electricity are installed within a similar time frame.

Large original windows on the east wall below the plaza are freshly restored and installed.

Geothermal well pipes are installed to its mechanical network. This system will provide efficient heating and cooling for the entire building.

The left side original terminal ceiling contrasts with the new plaza steel.

Northeast corner of plaza still awaits structural beam and column.

Open air mechanical vault shown from top of plaza. HVAC ducts are connected to this vault to extract clean air for the entire station.

Concrete trench drains for the plaza were casted. The blankets shown help to insulate and cure the concrete.

North side canopy trusses were also painted and restored.
