In 1994 Kiki is born in Germany. She was born

into a artistic family with her sculptor father and

her mother, Jane Smith, was an opera singer.

Making cardboard models of her fathers work

was the one of Kiki’s first art experiences. In her

teen years Kiki became a part of the hippie

movement and became devoted to a return to

nature. During this time Kiki was also interested

in art and attended Hartford School of Art in

Connecticut for three terms. Then studying

anatomy books which her father gave her Kiki

was inspired…

-Her sculptures are of and

About the body. She uses

Materials ranging from

bronze, paper, and wax.

She started off making sculptures of organs and parts

of the body but her art later evolved to include

animals, domestic objects, and became narrative. Kiki

is considered a feminist artist and her sculptures are

often metaphors for deeper issues. Some symbols that

frequently appear in her art are

birth, regeneration, and Catholic allusions. Also, she

doesn’t just do sculptures but occasionally does

sketches, paints, and does instillations.
