The Outlook
Glenn’s Thoughts
As we continue to move on through the Summer I hope more of you will rely on our website to obtain calendar information, twitter updates, and information about upcoming events. We are working harder to make that a tool of use for those of you that are on the internet frequently. Also, on Sunday morning we are making a change to put all our announcements on the big screen before and after morning worship. I know this will be a hard change but the lead-ership’s reasoning is simple. When we have a great service and we have to end it with lots of announcements it can leave you with a blah feeling. Our goal is to send you out energized and uplifted. Hanging Rock family day is going to be a great day for our church family. I am praying that all of you will try to make an effort to spend a relaxing day in the mountains. You can hike, go to the falls and do lots of free activities. If you want to swim or go canoeing it will cost you around $5 cash. Hanging
Rock does not take credit or debit cards. A HUGE thank you to Peter and his crew of workers for a great VBS. They sacrificed their time and energy to assure that our children had a quality program. Many of you may not realize how many of our adults and college students travel with our teens and children to camp, CIY and others places throughout the summer. It would be difficult to name all of these fine folks by name with-out missing someone. A sincere thanks for the investment you make every summer to our teens and children’s lives As we continue through a busy summer of vacation, fun, and long summer nights I hope you will put God first in all your plans. A sim-ple verse we all know yet struggle to follow sums it up best. Matt. 6:33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Love in Christ, Glenn

King Outreach Ministry Donations The KOM food drive was a HUGE success! The adults and VBS children collected four tuck loads of food and toiletries and raised $786.00 to help our community. Mike and the KOM crew were excited about your great gen-erosity and how God worked though you. The kids seemed to become even more driven to help when they realized how personal this issue is with 1 out of 4 of their own school friends not getting the food they need. Our community con-tinues to need our help all the year, so please continue to stick a little extra in your buggy for your neighbors in need. Remember hunger is a problem we can conquer in our
beyond blessed country!
Merry
Christmas!
(In July)
The children’s Christmas
program will begin before
we know it. There is a sign
up sheet in the children’s
wing for those children
that will be in 1st through
5th grades this coming
school year. Also, your
child will be able to list if
they would like a singing
solo or speaking part. That
will be important because
we will be assigning parts
very early this year at our
kick off party. Please hurry
and sign up so that we can
accurately plan our pro-
gram. I look forward to
working with your children
again this year.
In Christ ,

peter’s point of view
What a wild and crazy summer this has already been! The best part is
we have another 5 weeks to go! I hope you can make every effort to be at
our activities throughout July and August. I know there are vacations and
family plans but remember the fellowship and youth group building activi-
ties we have designed for your children will help form a bond that will carry
our children into their teen years. It is important as they choose friends
that we have given them every opportunity to establish close Christian
friends here at church. Those bonds are fostered through time spent
together.
Below you will see some important dates to remember for the rest of
the summer. If you are going to church camp and need a ride please let me
know beforehand. Please check the children’s summer calendar for
Wednesday and Sunday night activities.
Please Sign-up TODAY for Super Tuesdays so we can make plans & get group rates. Thanks!!!

Many THANKS to everyone who
contributed to the recent mid-year
food drive for King Outreach Ministry.
Because of your generosity,
several hundred pounds of food were
donated to help those in need.
Kentucky Christian University remains committed to advancing Jesus Christ
throughout the world. Our mission is to prepare students to shine the light of the Gospel throughout every area of society. We are dedicated to providing a strong Biblical founda-tion for each of our students. Every student graduates with a Bible major no matter what other degree they seek.
Kentucky Christian University was established in Grayson, Kentucky on Decem-ber 1, 1919, as Christian Normal Institute. The co-founders were J. W. Lusby, an out-standing educator, church leader, teacher, and journalist of eastern Kentucky, and J. O. Snodgrass, a minister of the Gospel from Iowa. Associated with them was R. B. Neal, an evangelist of eastern Kentucky. In her earlier days, Christian Normal Institute included both high school and jun-ior college programs as well as emphasizing the preparation of public school teachers, as indicated in the word "Normal." This area of education was phased out during the early 1920's at which time the education of young people for Christian ministries became the central purpose. The name was officially changed to Kentucky Christian College in 1944.In September, 2004, the institution changed its name from Kentucky Christian Col-lege to Kentucky Christian University. This name change represents a profound rebirth for the 85-year old institution.
