A Performance Mentality may well be a curse worse than the newly detected upgrade of the deadly Chinese Bird Flu. Bird Flu claims lives indeed, but the other curse claims human souls – for eternity!
In the Garden of Eden, duped by Satan, Eve developed an appetite for wisdom and acceptance, and lost her relationship with her Creator. She made a terminal choice and Adam followed her headlong into The Fall.
Billions today also search fatally for knowledge at the expense of knowing God. Frank Sinatra proudly sang, 'I did it my way!' Sadly, every Human falls into the same trap. We work our fingers to the bone so that we may be accepted by God, hoping that our good deeds will somehow outweigh the evil we've hatched along Life's road.
But it doesn't work that way. How ever much 'goodness' we produce to gain Salvation cuts no ice with God. He doesn't want our performance or self-imposed qualifications; He wants us to accept His provision for our Salvation. Whatever we offer God for entrance into Heaven flies in the face of the Crucified Christ. God knows that we haven't a hope; we've all sinned and come short of Him and His Holiness! That's why He came into our world to live and die for us, paying the price for our fallen nature and wicked hearts.
'Hell will be full of nice guys and Heaven may well be full of rascals. It's better to be a forgiven scoundrel than an unforgiven nice guy,' said one Gorges Smythe. And that's true! Every Human that gets there will be a sinner saved by God's Grace – and not by his own works. The Bible says so.
Stop struggling with your futile efforts and let Gerald (083 461 2023) or Alan (082 468 3758) introduce you to your loving Creator Who offers you the Gift of His Salvation. Phone or SMS either right away!

Greetings in Jesus' Name!It is so amazing to see our Young People bowing the knee to the
Lord Jesus and growing up into those who are excited about the Work of God and their place in the Body of Christ. It's thrilling to see those who have already stepped into places of leadership and others fast getting there.
Have a look at Youth Splash and enjoy the opportunity our young people shared in drawing aside from all distractions to spend time with the Lord Jesus and establish relationships with many like-minded young people. Please pray for them!
At the same time, what a consolation to know that “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints”. Please especially remember the loved ones of Mike Ladell from Pinetown, Liv Solberg and Mavis Penny from Winklespruit and Amon Nyawo from Jozini, who the Lord has received from us to their eternal reward in His Presence.

History proves Man's heart. From time immemorial, regardless of God's immense demonstration of love and power, Man soon forgot his Creator-God to make for himself his own gods. We are provoked to repeat Paul's words, “I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you” (1Cor 4:14).
Old Testament days brim with accounts of God's people forsaking Him to worship idols. 600 years before Jesus came, Jeremiah wrote, “Woe to the Pastors -- both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness.” The Prophets misled Israel, taught them idol worship, rejecting God's Word!
Sadly Paul's final words to the Ephesian Elders were warnings of this continuing disastrous spirit: “I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.”
He warns Timothy of Hymenaeus and Philetus with their own opinions, saying their words overthrew the faith of some. However, he concluded his warning with, “the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, The Lord knows them that are his”.
But history continues its story.
Having heard the message preached by history, we cannot say we have not been warned. The real answer as to what is happening no longer rests upon the shoulders of wayward Prophets of the past, but our own hearts. God's love for Mankind caused Him to attend to him in Person.

Man upon the Cross, when He ascended, gave gifts to Men. By these Gifts, His Personal Presence continues to be manifest. The SHEPHERD OF HEAVEN has made Himself available to lead and keep His flock. Jesus said in John 10, “My sheep hear my voice and they follow me”. The question however is, “What is in your heart?” If I read history, it tells me that even though Jesus came, and speaks by the Gift Ministries, Man will continue to lend his ear to the gods of his choice.
Jesus asks the question, “When the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?” Are there any who will have a heart to hear the voice of the True Shepherd, and follow Him? Today we have the privilege of saying, and meaning it, as did David, “The Lord is my Shepherd”. To avoid following false shepherds and prophets, the sheep of the True Shepherd must follow those who are committed to full submission to the Word of God, as He delivered it to us in the BIBLE.
Paul was clear in his conviction about not being swallowed up with the persuasions of Man. He said, “Henceforth know we no man after the flesh”. Because the heart of Man is so fickle, we dare not trust him. But we can, and must, trust the Shepherd of Heaven Whose voice is made audible to His sheep through the Word.
God warned Noah and, in faith, Noah showed his submission by building and entering the Ark. He escaped God's Judgment; but what happened to the rest of the world? Being forewarned, Noah was forearmed. He was a wise man. Then Jesus tells us the story of the 10 virgins. But 5, foolishly, were unprepared. What a disaster for them to hear the Bridegroom say, “Verily I say unto you, I know you not”. Then there were those who said, “Lord, in your Name we have done many wonderful
works”. But He answered, “I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of iniquity”. The ultimate tragedy is to be excluded from Heaven.
The True Shepherd's objective is to reconcile Man to God. He knows how, and is able to accomplish His objective. But to be wise we need to hear history's
message and listen for the voice of the “True Shepherd, JESUS”. Knowing the times, Jesus said, “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh”.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
The Ultimate Tragedy is not to
get to Heaven

a) First, DON'T be scared of writing! If you're not comfortable with writing, point form details are enough for us to construct a report. (We have to trim lengthy reports because of space and cost limits.)
b) Appoint someone to record happenings in your Assembly, and send them to us. Matters that would bless the whole Fellowship are: special events, anniversaries, weddings, births, deaths, healings, miracles, testimonies of all kinds, salvations, baptisms, Family Camps – plus pics, of course! Some Assemblies off the beaten track tells us that they are especially blessed by your news! This promotes our folks' fellowship and teamwork – and we get to hear the heartbeat of God in our Assemblies!
c) Our apostolic brethren regularly give us terrific input. Write and tell us how this has specifically affected you personally and/or your Assembly. This will help cement the Vision they give us.
d) Apart from general testimonies, the reports of those who go on Mission trips are invaluable! Their stories are sure to inspire other men to catch the passion for Missions – and GO!
e) Hunt out back numbers of Golden Greetings from your Assembly's shelves and cupboards and ask folks to distribute them freely as a means of spreading the Gospel. This fuels folks' passion for the lost, and experience tells us that strangers love our Magazine!
f) There is great interest in our Pictures from the Past. Please ask your older folk for their memories and pics from their albums like Assembly beginnings, special events and people from yesteryear. It's easy to scan pics as jpegs and e-mail them. However, if they are posted to us, we can scan and return them immediately.
Thanks for your part in blessing our Fellowship!

Please read Robert's testimony below and be encouraged by his response to one of our Magazines; a moving answer to prayer.
As we continue to watch and pray we are sure to find the Lord opening for us a whole new world of miracles waiting to happen.July: Pray for God to draw in additional Editorial Team helpers for the development of our Magazine.August: Pray for news from Assemblies we haven't heard from yet. We want to hear the Heartbeat of God in every Fellowship!
Prayer is not an optional extra; it is an absolute necessity. If you're not on our Prayer Team, we would love you to join us!
Please call me on 082 2946605;
Robert, recovering from an operation, was handed an 'old' copy of Golden Greetings by folk visiting the wards, praying for the patients.
A severely disabled man, rejected by his Hindu family for converting to Christianity, Robert was in a very low spiritual and emotional state. The Mag gave him hope, and he called my number at the end of the Nutshell page, to ask for prayer. I prayed with him and kept in contact till after he was discharged, days earlier than doctors expected. Our Fellowship also rallied in prayer for him.
He testified that the prayers had brought healing to his body and soul. He rang me a week after he got home, as we were getting ready for our Breaking of Bread. He said that he had been prompted to join us for our meeting and asked directions.
It was a joy to welcome him into our midst, and have him join us in thanking God for His wonderful love.
He still has many hindrances in his life, and so will need our prayers, but we pray that he will soon enter into full fellowship, where his faith can be sustained.
Be encouraged to put your 'old' Magazines into the hands of folk to whom God can minister!

Here we feature some dear Warriors of the Cross and thank God for memory of them. But we would love to receive your old pictures of bygone years to cause us all to remember with joy God's dealings with us in the past!
W.F.P. Burton, 'Uncle Willy', spent many years of apostolic service in the then Belgian Congo. More than 1,000 churches were established there under his ministry. Uncle Willy endeared himself to many in several Assemblies during the 50s. Some of us remember sitting around him on the floor while he was busy doing one of his now famous water-colours. All the while he would entertain us with fascinating Congo stories and, at the same time, impart sage advice and challenges for our young lives.
Fred Shabalala, a humble servant of the Lord whose simple yet powerful message brought many to Christ. His ministry was confirmed with signs and wonders especially in the Northern Transvaal, but also in Assemblies further afield. A wise comment I heard from him long ago was, 'The devil may be clever, but he is not wise in the wisdom of God!’
W.F. 'Fred' Mullan came to Christ under the ministry of his younger brother, James. Fred felt led to labour in God's work and, coming to South Africa, was party to establishing Fairview Assembly in Johannesburg. While differing with his brother on issues of Church Government, Ministries and especially Predestination, God powerfully used this dear brother in leading many souls to Christ with miracles and healings bearing witness to the Lordship of Jesus, under his ministry. Many Assemblies will recall precious fellowship our brother Fred Mullan.

Our beloved brother in Christ went to be thwith his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on the 25
June after much pain and suffering through
cancer.
Mike, a faithful and compassionate Elder in
our Fellowship, was always available to listen,
council and guide. Without fail, week after week,
he would minister to us, encouraging us in the
faith.
The Lord wonderfully used Mike's input to greatly enrich our lives.
He only missed one Convention in 40 years, due to ill health!
Mike had an unshakeable love for
the Lord Jesus and the Word of God. His th
Memorial Service was held on 28 June.
The hall was filled with family and friends; a
real testimony to how much our brother
was loved. To Dorothee and the family,
you have been amazing in your love and
care for Mike. Your testimonies have
touched our lives. May the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ grant you grace,
strength and comfort in the days ahead until Jesus comes. Laurie Nielsen
Winklespruit Winklespruit AssemblyIt is with great sadness, yet with deep joy in Christ, that we bid farewell to two very precious ladies.

Liv Solberg – Home in GloryFirstly, Liv Solberg was welcomed Home to
thGlory on 24 June at the age of 91!Born near Eshowe on 22 May 1922 to
Norwegian Lutheran Missionary parents, Liv gave her life to Jesus in her teens under the ministry of evangelist Edwin Orr. Her love for the Lord and sharing Him with others was vitally important to her. She loved and studied God's Word diligently.
Growing up in Eshowe, Liv met her future husband whose parents were also Missionaries. Karl loved her so much that, when he was studying at Howard College in Durban, he rode his bicycle all the way to Eshowe to see her. He also accepted his future mother-in-law's idea that anyone courting her daughters should not just sit around talking but do tasks like pulling out carrots whilst they talked. Liv's compassion for people led her to train in Nursing at Grey's Hospital. They eventually married, with him in army uniform, after the Second World War.
Liv and Karl moved to what is now Zimbabwe soon after they married. Whilst he was living in a tent surveying the Kariba Dam basin she nursed at the nearby Sinoia hospital. He then joined the Ministry of Water Development and this necessitated moving home seven times before relocating to Natal. Her nursing career was put on hold whilst she devoted her energies to lovingly caring for Harald, Else and Ingrid.
In the Durban area they lived in three different houses then retired to Poinsettia Park. After Karl died, Liv moved to Mooihawens. Her speech deteriorated as a result of a stroke and, a few weeks ago, she fell and broke her hip. She survived the operation but passed on to Glory on 24 June.
Liv took an active part in the lives of her nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mavis Penny in Heaven We also stand together with Debbie Muller who lost
ndher Gran on 2 July. Mavis Penny was a very special lady, who warmed the hearts of everyone she came in contact with.
When staying with Mike and Debs, she would fellowship with us and always be such a blessing!

Mavis, too, lived a full and blessed 94 years on her sojourn, ran well, and finished with joy.
There's joy in Heaven today as she is totally free of all pain and suffering, eternally to enjoy the presence of Jesus!
Please pray for Shirley and Gail, Mavis's two daughters, and the rest of the family in their time of grief. But rejoice with us too that these very special ladies are now exactly where they want to be! This is what they lived for! All Glory to the Lord! Mike Muller
Our condolences and prayers go to Linda, wife of Brother Mike de Lange, who went to be with the Lord on 17th June. His Christian walk started at a cottage meeting 20 years ago under the ministry of Peter Michell.
Mike's greatest desire was to study the Word deeply and share it enthusiastically at the cottage meeting still being held in his home 20 years later. He recently started sharing the Word on Facebook and this has touched many lives.
We thank the Lord for the measure given to Brother Mike in his faithful ministry to the elderly at the Zululand Homes for the Aged. He always checked 'roll call' every week to see who had left the “departure lounge”. Now, at 62, he has sneaked out to join them.
Linda, our “Camp Cook”, was sorely missed at this last Camp, due to Bro Mike's passing. Linda thanks the Fellowship for the support and love shown to her and the family.

RosehillRosehillAssemblyRosehill 'Set in Order' With great joy
we report that, at long last, Elders and Deacons have been ordained in Rosehill! With brethren away and ministering elsewhere, we had to settle for Tuesday 18th June.
Bro Peter Hawyes had been taking a series of Bible Studies with us and it seemed appropriate that, in the middle of these, we
10
11
should take that enormous step of having the Fellowship set in order. Thus it was that, in an atmosphere of worship, appreciation and holy awe, Peter laid hands and ordained Derrick Andrews, Val Field, Doug Raw and Gerald
Hawyes as Elders. Then, already active in their respective Ministries of the Word, hands were laid on Tony Robson, Craig Hemphill and Derek Raw as they were ordained into the Office of Deacons.
The evening concluded with precious fellowship around tea, coffee and copious mounds of cake. Please
rejoice with us and pray that God's grace and blessing will be upon these brothers, and Rosehill, for the glory of our Lord.
Premises Upgrade With hard work, generous hearts and donations of furniture and plenty of prayer, our kitchen has finally made the transition from the minor hall to 'upstairs'! At the same time the minor hall has been given a facelift with tiled floors, fresh paint and even a corner toilet! On top of all this activity, the grounds and exterior of the Church building have been cleaned up to a large extent. Last, but not least, our signage is being attended to as we wait for 'City Hall' approval. Good things are afoot; praise the Lord!
Beach Brekkie 6:30 Saturday morning was still pitch black as the first brave souls arrived on the beach near the Moses Mabida Stadium – but they were rewarded with a most spectacular sunrise! Soon enough, though, a goodly crowd from Rosehill and Ballito Assemblies had gathered for a time of rich fellowship, great fun and very good boerrie rolls, coffee, tea and fruit juice. It was a really good time and even the Beach Security guys gave sage advice about moving down the park a bit to avoid the hordes of aerobics ladies who were soon to arrive with their distinctive sounds and gyrations. Then, at
11
9, it was all over as we took our warmed hearts, happy tums and fresh memories – all rejoicing in the goodness of the Lord Whose Presence was singularly manifest! Who says Christians can't be crazy and have fun – in winter!?
Up Against It Without a doubt, Rosehill Assembly is under a concerted and well-orchestrated attack from the enemy through sickness. Equally without a doubt, our victory is in Jesus, Whose grace and healing power will surely bring about the Father's good pleasure amongst us.
We ask all our Assemblies to please stand with us in prayer and faith for our dear ones under attack; they are – David and Eloise Sykes, Pat Oswell, Elsa Duke, Molly Attlee, and her daughter, Rosemary, Donald Willson, Doug and Muriel Raw and Derek Raw and his daughter, Louise (bad spider bite). Thanks for your prayers. Gerald Hawyes
We're truly blessed as we wait on the Lord for His direction as He builds His church. In the meantime we continue to enjoy sweet fellowship as He works in our lives with each one stepping out in faith to be used by Him.
Our meetings continue at the Lexden Scout Hall on Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings, and, should you be in the Pietermaritzburg area, you would be most welcome to visit our new Fellowship.
On Saturday 22nd June our men got together to put up the church banner!
We give God the Glory as He gives the increase little by little, one member at a time.

HowickHowickAssemblyA precious new arrival! Congratulations to Davide and Vicky Musiello
on the birth of their first bambino! Dario is the Musiello family's first grandchild
and they are understandably all beaming with joy at this special new addition to the family. Howick Family Fellowship shares their delight and are all looking forward to meeting their youngest member.
We had a wonderful time with the youth this term. Our theme was “ G r o w t h ” , f o c u s i n g especially on the area of knowing the Bible better. Much learning and fun was had by all and we topped it off with a spectacular Bonfire evening on
the last Friday of the term! We feasted on soup and rolls whilst sitting around a roaring fire. Afterwards we sang some “silly songs” and ended the evening with Milo and Marshmallows. We are most grateful to the Lord for all those who have a heart to give of themselves to see our children and young adults grow in the Lord.
Gospel For Africa We are most grateful to the Lord for His faithfulness and provision in the work He has called us to.
We have had tent crusades in 6 different areas since the beginning of the year, and have seen the Lord work mightily among the communities. Many have declared their need for salvation, others been healed and delivered from demons. So many are now determined to serve Jesus with a pure heart.
Please pray for our brethren as they disciple the believers, for the Fellowships to be established and for ministries to be raised up. Commencing this month 10 men will be trained at the GFA Mission School. Four have been recommended by the oversight in the various Fellowships; one has just joined GFA, already leading a Fellowship in Pietermaritzburg, and the other five being ex-prisoners we are caring for.

Please pray that the Lord will give these men revelation and confirm His call on their lives.
The Mushroom Project has finally been approved. The Department of Agriculture is erecting a facility where the mushrooms will be grown. This will be a great blessing to the Fellowship which will benefit from the oyster mushrooms which are high in protein. We will also be able to feed the widows and orphans in the area.
The first project, at Hhaza, will be overseen by Bhekanani who lives next door to the Church hall where it will operate. Once we have proved to the Dept that we are able to run the project successfully, they will introduce the vegetable garden and also roll out similar projects where we have other properties. We are grateful to Ray Chorley from Estcourt who has donated a sound system to us for the ministry; thank you so much Ray. Ray has been preaching in the prison in Bergville. One of the men to whom he has been ministering has recently been released and will join us for training at the Mission School. Ray and Ann have also been ministering at Estcourt High School, and have arranged for Bhekanani and Nahan also to minister there.
Ukweseka Our Widows and Orphans Ministry is going well. We are learning wisdom as we go along. There are many needy and desperate people there who are opportunistic, so we rely on our brethren to assess each home and individual prayerfully and with discernment. We assist with clothing, non-perishable food and school items. Some Churches have gathered a group of ladies to collect for this ministry. Your assistance here would be greatly appreciated.
Zimbabwe We rejoice at having registered Gospel For Africa Trust in Zimbabwe! This has been done so that we can hold everything in trust as we operate in the country, as we do with CAOG here in SA. The Trust makes provision for Prison Ministry, Widows and Orphans, M i s s i o n S c h o o l s , Entrepreneurship and Skills Development.
We have also registered a micro finance company that does development finance to
14
vendors, to support the ministry. We are trusting that the ministry will be self sufficient by the end of this year. Please pray for the work in Zim and for the raising up of ministries. We currently have two Fellowships there. Benin We have been in touch with Idohou Roland, a brother from Benin, who has a very similar vision to ours. His Fellowship is involved in training Missionaries, Prison Ministry and Widows and Orphans. We have sent some material to him and are arranging for him to visit us in November, Lord willing. Idohou is wanting to partner with us and promote the work of GFA in Benin. Scott Wheeler

During the weekend of 22 June we were privileged to have Bro Peter and Sis Mary Hawyes with us for a lovely weekend of fellowship. From the outset the Lord ministered to us about the reality of the Plan of God set before the foundation of the world, for man to come into fellowship with Him. This requires of us to lay down the traditions of our fathers and to be born again. The need for us to hear the voice of God through the reading of the Word and fellowship was stressed as the Lord made it clear that His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways not our ways.
We thank the Lord for the simple but precious way in which He spoke to us and for all who attended from Glencoe and Pongola.
Prys die Here.

Sarnia Sarnia Family FellowshipWe praise and thank the Lord for His wonderful Love, Compassion,
Longsuffering and Grace shown to us as a Fellowship. We worship His Name and give thanks to Him for every believer amongst us. We are truly blessed.
Much has taken place over the last month. Apart from the “Normal Meetings” many particular needs in the Fellowship are catered for by specific meetings - from Sunday School through Outreach at Sarnia Primary School, to several youth groups with a number of our folk acting as Counsellors at the KZN Youth Camps. There are extra Prayer Meetings, Bible Studies and Outreaches into homes, and Eston, and a local Ministry in Zulu. We are so grateful to the Lord for the new folk being added, and the closeness and ministries growing amongst us as a result of this. Last, but not least, is the work for Missions that continues to know God's blessing.
New doors have been opened for us in Pinetown to preach the Word at Retirement Homes, one at Pinehaven and another at Fairydene. Wayne Raw, together with fellowship members living there, are caring for these folk.
Many of our ministering brethren are out and about in the greater work, being directed by the apostolic ministry to minister the Gospel or Bible Studies. We thank the Lord for the growth of these ministries and rejoice in the ever-growing pool of Ministries.
We thank the Lord for the safe return of our Youth from Senior and Junior Camps. The life-changing experiences received by many young people have bubbled over in testimonies of thanksgiving and praise to the Lord.
Following our dear Sister Sue's Home-going, our thoughts and prayers have been with Duncan and his family. Praise God for His grace upon the Boswell family.
A deeply moving Memorial Service was held in the Convention tent at Sarnia when a huge crowd of family and friends gathered to give thanks to the Lord and pay tribute to this dear friend. Many gave thanks for her leadership and strength wherever she was, and her heart for people in need. Sue showed her faith and love by works – when she saw a need she did something. The table overflowing with soft toys for children suffering from cancer, and her request to donate to Missions in lieu of flowers, was a touching example. Peter ended the service with an exhortation to all to follow her example, be born again and experience an exciting and purpose-filled life so that we too can know a grand entrance into the Presence of God when He calls us home. 17

Our thoughts and prayers have also been with Dave and Natalie Ladell and their family at the loss of Dave's Dad as the Lord took him home. (See the report from Pinetown Assembly)
We rejoice with Dave and Etlane Woodley on the birth of their daughter Gabriella on
nd22 June, and with David and Carmen Short on ndthe birth of their 2 daughter Peyton Joy on the
th20 June (Mike and Jeanne's second bundle of joy). We give thanks for their safe arrivals.
Bob and Margaret Berry have returned from visiting their family in the UK. We thank the Lord for the testimonies of doors opened to share the Gospel with folk.
Please pray for the following needs in our midst:
Monty Rethman fell and is recovering after having had stitches to his face and hand. Craig Geel is in Westville Hospital awaiting results of various tests for a viral infection and treatment for pneumonia. The first of the tests results reveal that he has Bilharzia! Christine Minnie has been asked to stay at home over this last month, and rest up, as she has had difficulty with her pregnancy. Tina Jones is recovering at home after a stint in Westville Hospital for a bad skin reaction to medication.
Shane Hawyes is doing a 6-week work project in Kenya. May the Lord encourage both him and Heidi and keep them safe until his return.

Eston Farming Community - An Open DoorIn October 2012, following months of friendship building and
hospitality to people of the farming community of Eston in the home of Dave and Etlane Woodley, an End-Times Bible Study led by Mike Short commenced. Since then, a small group from Sarnia Family Fellowship has continued to minister to people within this community, west of Camperdown, between Durban and Pietermaritzburg. The people have been exposed to a variety of Christian movements over the past years.

Unfulfilled promises of those who have come and gone have left many disappointed and desiring the love and consistency of a true shepherd.
Although having relocated to Durban for a season, Dave continues to visit the area ministering to farmers and those in need. He is accompanied once a week by Ashman Phakathi, our full-time worker in Gillitts, at the Hope Valley School and amongst many groups of farm labourers. A Bible Study takes place every Thursday evening in the home of Jason and Mandy Saunders who, with their children Brice, Paige and Ella, have joined in fellowship with us. Breaking of Bread and a Gospel Service take place there on Sunday mornings.
thOn 16 June, Mike Short was asked to lead the Sunday G o sp e l Me e t i n g . As we gathered, I was very aware of the unfamil iar surroundings: a cavernous chapel, rounded arches, stained glass windows, etc. These things however did not deter our joyful singing and the Word of God, as it was preached with power.
A number of people from the small gathering responded to the challenge to 'open the doors of their hearts to the One who had been knocking'. It was precious hearing an elderly man regretting that he had not responded to the challenge; Bro Mike was able to minister to him.
In the prayer time before the meeting end, one lady thanked the Lord for the 'breath of fresh air' He had provided to the hungry congregation. May the Great Shepherd receive all the glory!
The fellowship afterwards was warm around coffee, cake and a seemingly endless supply of freshly prepared crumpets! We have another opportunity to
thminister there on 14 July so please pray with us for this mission endeavour!
The Lord has given us an exciting vision for this little community. Watch this space! Warren Hale

Dear Sir / MadamFirst I will like to greet you in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.I wish to commend you and your team for the wonderful work you are
doing to bring the light of God's Word to those who want to know and learn the truth. In my local church we don't get the teachings that you bring for us through your material and scriptural references. I want to truly thank you and I pray that God will continue to bless your ministry.
Hendrick Setlhare, Mangaung Corr Centre, Fichardt Park
Dear Teachers / FriendsI greet you sincerely in the precious Name of our Lord Jesus ChristI'm very grateful that I have received the certificate from you; that
certificate makes me that always I pull up my socks. This is the most important step for every person to take in this life, and I'm very grateful that you have received the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour.
The moment I surrender my life to the Son of God, I have found forgiveness of sins and become a child of God. “To all who received Him … he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12)
As God's children we are heirs of eternal life. What a glorious future is awaiting us in heaven!
May you find every day much comfort in the wonderful assurance that the Lord Jesus Christ is with you as He promised his followers in Matthew 28:20 “…surely I am with you always, to the very end ...”
I send sincere Christian greetings with His Words in John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.”
My Teacher & Friends please if you pray put my name in your prayer please. Now I'm waiting for petition results from the High Court so please pray for me and put this case number: RR12/2009.
I am born from poor family that is why I'm suffering. Thanks for CD, and I love that message in the CD.

Calgary in Crisis
Daily Mail (UK)/Assoc Press 21 June 2013
Christianity Blended with Paganism Attracts Spiritualists
More than 100,000 people have left their homes after floods ravaged the city of Calgary, Canada after days of heavy rainfall. Entire suburbs along the Bow and Elbow rivers, ravaged with four inches of rain recently, are empty following evacuation orders at many downtown areas.
Even the Calgary Zoo has transported animals to safe locations with lions and tigers being taken to prisoner cells at the court.
As many residents were moved to safety by emergency crews, Calgary's Mayor warned that the worst of the flooding is yet to come.
To increase church attendance, the Church of England is attracting New Age spiritualists to create “a pagan church where Christianity is very much in the centre.” This means changing Anglican Church doctrine to include people of alternative beliefs. Having given up its fight against gay marriage, the C of E admits its motive is to retain congregants who have embraced paganism. They are currently training ministers to get spiritist people into their churches.
The Church's recent news releases were aligned with the Summer Solstice celebrations which attracted 20,000 pagans and druids to historic Stonehenge.

Paedophile Grooming Gangs Prey on Children's Homes

Why the War on Drugs is Failing
Der Spiegel Feb 22, 2013.
“The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us, with the Blood of Christ: all of us, not just Catholics. Everyone!” the Pope told worshippers at morning Mass recently. “Even atheists and all non-believers. Everyone!” he continued. The sceptical, atheist American Humanist Association, welcomed his comments.
The Vatican later issued an “explanatory note on the meaning to 'salvation', … people who are aware of the Catholic Church cannot be saved
if they refuse to enter her or remain in her.”
The recent conviction of a child exploitation grooming gang in Oxford is but one of another 54 'care homes' under investigation by 27 UK Police Forces.
Labour MP Tom Watson wants the Police to investigate suggestions of a strong paedophile network linked to Parliament and No 10, while the Chief Constable of Oxford
has apologised for "shocking police failures" which allowed the Oxford grooming gang to continue their depraved activity for so long.
"In 2010, 200 million people took illegal drugs - 40,000 tons of marijuana, 800 tons of cocaine, and 500 tons of heroin. No matter how cheap heroin is, most people won't buy it, regardless of the price. But addicts will always pay. They have no choice and cost is not a consideration."
The costs of 40 years of worldwide drug wars are staggering. The US spends about $15 billion annually, while 60,000 people in Mexico have died in the past six years in the drug war. Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos has mooted the concept of legalising drugs as a means of destroying the mafia-type drug trade and providing increased taxes to national governments. But Yuri Fedotov, Head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, disagrees, and commented, "If drugs are legal, easier access means greater use. Alcohol, a legal drug, kills 2.3 million worldwide each year; Tobacco, 5.1 million while illegal drugs kill only some 200,000. This illustrates the success of prohibition."
Drug use is a terrible consequence of "the lust of the flesh" and turning away from God's truth, Gal 5:16; 1 Pet 2:11; Eccl 12:13-14. The war

I've been told that the Bible is a religious book and we should not expect it to be supported by archaeology. Is this so?
CONTACT GERALD HAWYES 083 461 2023
Although it is not possible to verify every incident in the Bible, the
discoveries of archaeology since the mid-1800s have demonstrated its reliability emphatically. Here are some examples:§ The discovery of the Ebla archive in northern
Syria in the 1970s supports the Bible's writings about the Patriarchs. Clay tablets from around 2300BC reveal that personal and place names in the Old Testament are genuine. The name “Canaan” was in use in Ebla, whereas critics said it was not used at that time. The word”tehom” (“the deep”) in Genesis 1:2 was said to be a late word indicating the late writing of the Creation story. However, “tehom” was in use at Ebla some 800 years before Moses. Ancient customs in OT stories have also been found in clay tablets from Nuzi and Mari.
§ Critics rejected the Hittites as a Biblical legend; that is, until their capital and records were discovered at Bogazkoy, Turkey.
§ They criticised the Bible's account of Solomon's wealth as greatly exaggerated. Records from the past, however, assert that wealth in ancient times was concentrated with the king and Solomon's prosperity was entirely feasible.
§ They claimed there was no Assyrian King Sargon - Isa 20:1 - because this name was not recorded anywhere else. Then Sargon's palace was discovered in Khorsabad, Iraq. In fact, his capture of Ashdod mentioned in Isa 20 was recorded on the palace walls. In addition, fragments of a tablet celebrating this victory were found at Ashdod itself.
§ Another king who was in doubt was Belshazzar, king of Babylon - Dan 5. The last king of Babylon was Nabonidus according to recorded history.
31
Tablets were found showing that Belshazzar was Nabonidus' son who served as co-regent in Babylon. Thus, Belshazzar could offer to make Daniel “third highest ruler in the kingdom” - Dan 5:16 - for reading the handwriting on the wall, the highest available position. Thus, 'the stones cry out' as archaeology witnesses to the accuracy and
reliability of God's Word. Trust it, read it and let its Author lead you in His ways.

I live with my parents whose non-stop criticism of my stand for Jesus is driving me crazy. What can I do? Can I last out?
The Book of Acts tells how the Early Church developed and matured
through persecution. Most of Christ's followers paid for their
testimony with their lives. Strangely, they were happy to do so! Why?
They were honoured to be associated with this King of Glory Who
had died for their sins, while they suffered for His righteousness! Acts
5:41 says, 'they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that
they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His Name.'
Paul testifies that 'we must through much tribulation enter into the
Kingdom of God' – Acts 14:22. Whether from angry parents or a wicked
world, you will suffer for your faith in Christ. 2 Tim 3:12 says, 'Yea, and all that
will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.'
It's not what happens to you that really matters, but how you react to
it. You will find much joy in understanding that, in relating to Jesus, God is
using your hardships to refocus your life and refine your soul as, taking His
yoke, you learn from your Lord – Matt 11:28-30.
Deal with your parents' criticism this way:
· If their criticism is justified, repent and adjust your behaviour and
show a positive attitude;
· If not, ignore it and bear it with honour as a battle scar for Jesus;
· Instead of being angry, love them all the more – like Jesus did;
· Be assured that He is touched with your problems – Heb 4:15,16 –
and will give you grace and help;
· Finally, know that He Who will never leave you – Heb 13:5 – will also
keep you from falling – Jude 1:24
Now that's real victory, and joy much deeper than happiness!

Brother Amon Nyawo who ministered at the Jozini Assembly went home to be with
thJesus, and his funeral was held on 16 June 2013.
All went well as Brother PJ Gumede ministered the Word to us. We were blessed that also present were Brothers James Zungu, Hamilton Nkosi from Mboza and Titos Nkosi from Ingwavuma. Hearts were touched and three people gave their lives to Jesus.
We ask for your prayers as Bro Nyawo leaves three orphaned children, the eldest doing grade 12, the next in grade 11 and the last born in grade 3. We pray that the Living God be with you.
thOn 8 June we were so grateful to our Lord Jesus Christ for the
Convention we had at Sarnia. We were joined by five churches – Gillitts, Kwa Dabeka, Umlazi, Waterfall and Port Shepstone.
Brother Peter Hawyes ministered the Word to us. The theme of the ministry was “Jerusalem to Jericho” from Luke 10: 30-37 and it was such a blessing.
We would like to also thank the Ladies who kindly prepared Breakfast and Lunch for us.

Senior Youth Camp was held before the Junior Camp this winter and some of the High Schools hadn't completed their term yet. This meant that some campers would not be able to make the Camp, but such was their determination to be there that they got permission to skip the last week of the
school term. We could sense how the Lord drew near to us in response to how the young folk drew near to the Lord!
It wasn't a completely full camp, but 75 jumped off the buses and it was a great privilege to minister to them over the next five days.
God had laid the account of His calling of young Samuel on our hearts, and this formed the
foundation for the ministry over the camp. We couched the story in the lingo of cell phones and sending and receiving of messages, which was relevant to the campers not only because of the times in which we live, but also because they

could see that the Lord is calling them as young people. As the Lord searched their hearts, their response was open and honest.
In between the ministry were the usual organised activities, sports, inspections, meals, workshops and trips to the beach. These make for a very full (but productive) day and we're all are exhausted by the time “lights out” comes around.
We can't forget to mention that we had a “new” counsellor/chef who joined us for this Camp. We say “new” a bit tongue in cheek because she last served on a Camp 27 years ago, We're of course talking of Aunty Mez Reynolds, who testified that she really enjoyed being at Camp again and might even help in the future if there was a need.
One of the funny moments occurred on arrival night when the counsellors each had the opportunity to introduce another counsellor to the campers. The intro included each counsellor's portfolio; but what we were not prepared for was the “skeletons” that “escaped” from some of the closets. Some shaving or non-shaving habits of some of the counsellors may have gotten out, surprising even those being introduced – but we'll leave it there because “what happens at camp stays at Camp!”
We thank all in the Fellowships for their prayers and support of Camp; we appreciate these! Thanks also to the management and staff at Camp Anerley – the site is awesome, well-kept and the developments much needed.
May the Lord keep and bless the work He has done in the lives of the campers until He comes again!
After a long wait, finally Winter Camp 2013 arrived, each one of us coming with excited hearts to see what the Lord had in store for us.

The theme of this Camp was "Get Connected" and this was used extensively throughout the whole Camp. Right from the start of the Camp we were told that the phone is ringing and all we have to do is respond, pick up the phone and "get connected" with God.
Once we had responded to God's "phone call", He went on to show us the precious jewels (messages) He wants us to hide in our hearts. It was so special how God was able to speak into each one of our lives in such a personal way, even though we're all from different walks of life. He told us that we need to search our "folders", which we have filled with life's issues, problems, fears, hobbies and dreams, leaving no space for God, then empty them so we can fill them with Him. Until next Camp, we must follow through with God's plan for our lives so that our lives can become "sent" items instead of just “drafts" – passing the message (the Word) to those around us.
The sport at Camp was fun as always, but the best was the day spent at the beach, playing rugby, swimming and bouncing each other off of giant balls - everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
God really blessed us with an amazing, mind-blowing Camp! We are all so thankful to Him for touching the lives of the campers, and us, once again! What follows was the favourite song through the camp. May it be the prayer of each of our hearts!
“Here I am; everything,
Search my heart,
Set me free.
Here I am; listening,
Father speak, Father speak.
“Here I am; everything,
Search my heart,
Set me free.

ME!
Milly was so excited, Mike was finally coming home from Camp – it seemed like he'd been
gone forever. It was Mike's first Camp and he'd been SO nervous. Being away from your family can be scary, but the family had all prayed together that he would be safe and off he'd gone
And….today he was coming home! Milly heard the car door slam and raced
through to the exhausted looking Mike who was standing in the driveway. “So, what was it
like? Was it scary? What did you do? What did you learn? Did you have fun?” Milly shot off
questions like a machine gun. After being bundled inside by dad with suitcases filled with dirty
clothes, Mike sat down on the couch to tell Milly about his week. He started with the most important part – what he had heard from Jesus. “We heard about how Samuel, as a very young boy, was called by God and Samuel was willing to answer and do what God asked of him. I really enjoyed that because it showed me that it doesn't matter how old we are or how much we know the Bible – God can use us if we are willing to listen and obey Him.”
Milly thought about this for a moment and thought of a million more questions but by the time she looked across to her brother he was already fast asleep, dreaming of being back at Camp with his new friends.

th thThe weekend 5 to 7 July was a small beginning but a wonderful and
relaxing time together in the crisp Berg air. Having enjoyed a real Berg breakfast, the display of Raptors at Falcon Ridge was an awesome experience. No time to waste we headed for Monks Cowl. While some enjoyed lunch at the picnic spot, a group ascended into the mountain to Crystal Falls. There Ian Veitch put on a spectacular display for us called “Swan Splash Crumble”. Losing his footing he settled neatly into an icy pool. He suffered a
severely bruised pride. The Saturday ended with a “never-to-be-forgotten”
Christmas dinner, presents by Hetta & Co to a hungry group of about 35 happy diners. After the feast the weary “jollers” said no thanks to the DVD that was waiting to end the day. On Sunday while some explored, others supported the morning Family Service followed by the Breaking of Bread.
What a splendid weekend for the family at what a price. A MUST FOR ALL next July.

Lord Bless, Craige Raw
SECRETARY/TREASURERI received an e-mail from our Security Company
regarding House Fires. Here are some of the interesting stats from their mail:
· More than 50% of all fire deaths are as a result of House Fires;
· 55% of House Fires predominantly occur in developed urban areas;
· 25% of fire deaths occur in developed township areas;
· Only 18% of fire deaths occur in undeveloped urban areas;
· Only 2% in rural areas.
Most of our Church Buildings and Manses are in developed urban areas, where more than half of these House Fires occur. See the below list of the causes of these House Fires:
· Almost 65% of fires are caused by computers left on at night. The fan burns out and the computer overheats and ignites;
· 15% were due to chargers left in a wall socket, unattended heaters, and other electronic equipment;
· The remainder were due to washing machines, stoves, ovens and arson.
80% of House Fires are as a result of what you and I do most of the time: leave computers running overnight and unused cellphone chargers plugged into the wall. Because many of our local Fellowships have moved away from using Chorus Books and instead display songs from a data projector, we need to ensure that our Church PC's have been shut down and all Device Chargers have been removed from the wall.
Because of the risk of fire, especially during winter, please ensure that the Content List for your Fellowship is up-to-date and forwarded to me in order for adequate insurance to be put in place.

We're sorry that our June Golden Greetings is not up on the Site but hope that the July Mag will be available pretty soon.
Download a full magazine onto your i-pad, Galaxy tablet or Kindle and see how easy it is to read.
Meanwhile we're happy to tell that the First Principles are now available online as downloads. We're investigating the possibility of being able to read them on line too.
Your comments and suggestions would be most welcome and, in fact, extremely helpful. Do let's hear from you please
