National BFI Symposium April 2015

Objectives

1. Participants will become familiar with components of Toronto Public Health’s Baby-Friendly Initiative (BFI) Journey and work to sustain designation including lessons learned.

2.Participants will identify elements of Toronto Public Health’s BFI Journey that their organization can adapt and implement as they work towards BFI designation.

•12 birthing hospitals in Toronto

•30,500 births per year to Toronto residents

Information about Toronto Public Health

•1800 Toronto Public Health Staff

•400 Staff providing services to prenatal and postnatal families

•245 PHNs providing infant feeding services
