The 7th Combined Policy Meeting on Admissionswas held on Thursday, 2nd June, 2016 at theNUC.

The Honourable Minister of Education directedimmediate stoppage of Post UTME TEST by ALLtertiary institutions.

The Honourable Minister further directed that ameeting of all stakeholders should be convened.

To work out modalities for the screening ofcandidates duly recommended for admissions.

In view of the National importance of thismeeting, the Permanent Secretary, FederalMinistry of Education is here to chair themeeting.

This is to ensure that the HonourableMinister’s directives are strictly adhered to.

10% for DE

However, if the 10% for DE is notutilized, it may be added to the UTMEquota.

Especially their Second (2nd) Choiceinstitutions of preferences.

SUMMARY OF MODEL 1

1. Screening of ONLY candidates recommended to JAMB andoffered Provisional Admissions.

2. No written Examination conducted.

3. Verification of Course Requirements (O’ levels or A’ levels)with maximum lifespan of five (5) years.

4. Verification of valid JAMB results.

5. Fees charged for Screening.

B. VERIFICATION OF O’LEVEL RESULTS

The university has contacted WAEC for the purchase of WAECOmnibus Result verification from 2005 to date, while scratchcards will be used to verify NECO and NABTEB results.

C. VERIFICATION OF JAMB UTME SCORES

JAMB 2014 results of candidates that have the minimum cut-offpoints (180) in the 2014 UTME and that have chosen IBBUL astheir most preferred.

CONCLUSION

The University does not intend to conduct any post UTMEexamination but screen to rather confirm the UTME Results andgrades obtained in the O’level examinations (WAEC, NECO andNABTEB).
