JKN END-YEAR EXAMINATIONS 2015-2016
Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuhu
Dear Parents and JKN Islamic Studies and Alim Course (English) students,
The written JKN Examinations for all students of the English Islamic Studies and Alim Course will be
during the week: Monday 23rd May 2016- Wednesday 1st June 2016
The timetable is attached. Please ensure you know in advance which exam(s) you are to sit and
which day your exams are on. Please make note of the following:
1. No student will be able to sit the exam if the end- year’s fees have not been paid 2. There will be registration between 7-7.15pm- Students must not come later than this
time. 3. Exams will begin at 7.30pm sharp- any students who come late, without a valid excuse,
will have 5% deducted from that exam. 4. Students must ensure they bring their own stationary. Writing paper will be provided. 5. Cheating will not be tolerated. The student will be suspended from the exam with 0%. 6. Students must not talk or communicate with each other during exam time. There should
be no mobile phones visible and any other materials which would assist the student, except what the ustadh/ aapa has clarified to the students. (i.e. Dictionary)
7. All exam papers will be collected in by 9.30pm Islamic Studies, and 10pm Alim Course at the latest (therefore parents must make arrangements to pick up students at an appropriate time). It is expected that each exam should be approximately no more than 1 hour unless stated.
8. Marks will be given for each exam out of 100%. There will also be a total average mark of total sum of exams out of 100%
9. The pass mark is 50%+ Distinction mark is 75%+ 10. There will be JKN Institute Ramadhan holidays, commencing from Friday 3rd June 2016 11. Exam results will be given on Friday 3rd June 2016 during class time in Assembly 7.30-
8.30pm- All students must be present. 12. JKN Institute re-opens Monday 18th July 2016 In-sha-Allah.
Note- Each student (intermediate level and above) will also be given an Islaah Score out of 100% and Arabic Competency Score out of 100%, which they must pass. This will include general behaviour/ adab, attendance/ punctuality and Arabic competencies. These scores will be given to each student as a guide to their self-reformation and development, if students do not pass 50% in Islaah score and 65% in their Arabic Competency Score, they will not be able to move on to the next academic year. This score is given priority to ensure that general behaviour and conduct of students is considered an equal priority as the academic performance.
