Call to Worship [responsive]
O God, you summon the day to dawn,
you teach the morning to waken the earth.
Great is your name, great is your love.
For you, the valleys shall sing for joy,
and the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Great is your name, great is your love.
For you, the monarchs of the earth shall bow,
the poor and the persecuted shall shout for joy.
Great is your name, great is your love.
Your love and mercy shall last forever,
fresh as the morning, sure as the sunrise.
Great is your name, great is your love.
Let us worship God together.

Call to Confession and Prayer of Confession [together]
Holy God, you see into our hearts.
You see the true selves we try to hide,
the sins we fear will destroy our image,
the unholy habits that have been with us a long time.
But you also see in us the image of Jesus Christ,
the Holy One who took on our sin
and covers us in his righteousness.
Forgive us for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Savior. [Silence for Personal Prayer]
Assurance of Pardon
*Response “When Peace like a River” #840, verse 1
When peace like a river attendeth my way,

whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,
it is well, it is well with my soul.
It is well with my soul;
it is well; it is well with my soul. *Passing the Peace

Ordination and Installation of a Ruling Elder (11:15)
There are different gifts,
But it is the same Spirit who gives them.
There are different ways of serving God,
But it is the same Lord who is served.
Each leader is given certain gifts by the Spirit
To use for the common good.
Together we are the Body of Christ
And individually, members of him.
