Today’s aviation news becomes tomorrow’s aviation history. A
storied history of record setting speeds, distances and altitude
achievements have been a large part of the ever-changing break
throughs in airplane design and propulsion. All of which have
contributed greatly to the growth in aviation. So, let’s step back in
time and see what aviation news from yesteryear has made aviation
as we know it today.

Bloomsburg Flyers/ N13 Redbird Sim Group Redbird TD2Flight Simulator-BATD, FAA Approved -
$35/hour
The Redbird TD2 is the first table-mounted flight training device, designed with the
ergonomics of flight in mind. This simulator, with rudder pedals represents a single
engine piston aircraft, equipped with the G1000 glass configuration or a Standard 6
pack. With the TD2, you can choose to fly with or without retractable landing gear,
constant speed propeller and/or a high-performance engine. This sim is programmed
with a complete terrain and airport database and comes equipped with computer,
monitor, instrument panel, keyboard and speakers. https://simulators.redbirdflight.com
Maintain Your VFR Currency 2.5 hours can be logged toward your Private Pilot rating. Schedule regular sessions with
your instructor and maintain your currency at far less cost. Not only will you save time
and money, but with a good currency plan, you will stay sharp by regularly practicing the
real-world failures that can occur. Also, Practice solo flight and gain confidence when
flying into different classes of airspace.
Maintain Your Instrument Currency While regularly practicing instrument flying in the airplane is critical to safety, you can
stay sharp by incorporating the TD2 into your overall currency plan. The TD 2 is FAA
approved for maintaining IFR Currency requirements 6 approaches, intercept and nav
tracking WITHOUT the requirement of a safety pilot or CFII.
Gain FAA-Approved Flight Experience Redbird TD2 is approved as a Basic Aviation Training Device (BATD) by the FAA. It is
then authorized per 61.4(c) for use in satisfying the Tasks/Maneuvers and Procedures
under parts 61 and 141. A BATD is intended to provide a training platform for “at least
the procedural aspects of flight relating to an integrated ground and flight instrument
training curriculum.”

BATDs must provide physical flight and aircraft systems controls (eliminating the use of
interfaces like keyboards, mice, and gaming joysticks for any tasks other than setup).
They must also model the ergonomics of at least one aircraft in the family represented.
The display must meet certain requirements regarding instruments and indicators,
readability, and update rates. Flight dynamics should be comparable to the simulated
aircraft, but control loading does not have to model a specific aircraft.
LOCATED IN THE NEW TERMINAL BUILDING AT THE BLOOMSBURG AIRPORT-N13,
The Redbird TD2 Flight Simulator will allow you 24/7/365 to:
*Start your flight on the ground or pick it up in the air.
*Fly day or night in VFR or IFR conditions.
*Practice Aircraft Failures or Emergency Procedures.
*Shoot Landings or airport instrument approaches at any airport in the world
*Practice cross country flights to unfamiliar airports before you get in the airplane
Pilots may use the Redbird Flight Training Simulator to log 10 hours of training in
simulated instrument conditions toward their instrument rating and 50 hours toward their
commercial rating representing a considerable cost savings toward all ratings. For more
information or to schedule please call or text Ty Williams 570-336-1919 or,
