Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce Newsletter

January 2016

Executive Director’s Message Valued Fruita Chamber of Commerce members- Happy

New Year! Welcome to 2016!

Before we move to what is new for 2016 we must say a

fond farewell to outgoing and longtime board member

Linda Kochevar. Perhaps our longest serving board

director, serving more than two-three year terms, Linda

kept the financials for the Fruita Chamber as Treasurer.

We wish Linda the best moving forward and thank her

for many years of dedicated service to the Fruita

Chamber of Commerce as Treasurer and Director. We would also like to thank

Anissa Wright for serving as GVYP liaison to the board in 2015, thank you

Anissa! I would like to welcome our new Board members for 2016: Colin

Cummings, US Bank; Tyler Dixon, Williams, Turner & Holmes, P.C.; Derek

Biddle, Family Health West; and Julia McHugh, Museum of Western Colorado.

Julia is an appointed liaison for the Southside Marketplace Committee. They

will join current board members: President Dustin Wells, Grand Valley Bank;

Vice President Dr. Mike Reeder, Visual Eyes Eyecare; Secretary Denise Hight,

Colorado National Monument; City Council Liaison Stacey Mascarenas,

Family Health West; and Director Donna Stratton. Thank you all for your time

and dedication, we look forward to your leadership and direction for 2016 and

beyond!

Now on to what is new for 2016. As you will see later in the newsletter we

have moved a few meetings around to better accommodate our members, you

spoke and we listened! Please make note of these changes in your calendars.

One of the biggest changes you will see in 2016 will be our dues structure. We

will be moving to a tiered dues system. This will be a very simple structure to

allow you to invest at a level that makes sense for your business, allow you to

participate on your terms and take your business to the next level for 2016. We

will also offer an a la carte menu consisting of sponsorship and marketing

opportunities.

We’re bringing it back to Fruita!!!! Your Board of Directors and Chamber

staff are very excited to be bringing the Annual Banquet and Awards back to

Fruita, to be held this year at the Fruita Community Center! Please plan on

attending the 2016 Annual Banquet and Awards on Feb. 20th. This year’s

theme is “Welcome Team Fruita 2 Your Community Connection! A sports

and team based theme introducing you, our valued members to your new

Chamber “Your Community Connection!” More to follow…..

Attention all Fruita Chamber Members!!

As has been mentioned previously, we no longer accept the Chamber bucks for

redemption. Any bucks still left are well over a year old. This program was

discontinued in early 2015. We decided to allow redemption of outstanding

bucks through December 31, 2015. Please alert your front line staff to not

accept these as payment, we will no longer redeem them. Thank you, we will

be introducing a new program soon.

Looking forward to connecting you and the community in 2016!
