New Directions

Future changes on the way, including:--creation of international sales teams, 2013--review of all training materials, by 2014

New directions

Our traditions

• We can continue our tradition of effective, personalized trainings with:– Online only training– Blended learning trainings

Where we want to beTo meet our new (and future) business needs,

we need to:• Continue high quality training– Available & convenient for all employees– Reduce time costs, work loss– Reduce monetary costs (travel, hotel, setup).

According to recent studies, “as much as 40 cents of every dollar spent on in-person training goes to travel and lodging costs” (Citrix, 2011).

Where we want to be• In order to deliver high quality, low cost

training, we can utilize synchronous delivery systems to:– Tailor training to fit our learners’ needs– Update materials more easily– Offer trainings more often

Where we want to be

Let’s look at 3 examples of online training platforms:– WebEx– Adobe Connect– GoToMeetings

WebEx

GoToMeeting.com

• Low cost– No travel fees, no work loss,– Recent studies have indicated that “conducting

live workshops average 70% more expensive than conducting the same training using an e-learning course” (Singley, 2012).

• Recorded for later access– On demand retraining/review

• Equally accessible for all employees

Advantages

• Synchronous methods offer high quality delivery and retention of training objectives

• A recent study indicated there was “no statistically significant difference” when comparing the same training delivered via live face to face workshops or via online learning (Salesforce, 2011).

What about personalization?

• Live synchronous meetings let us:– Share visual information with trainees via• Webcam• Whiteboards• PowerPoints• Recorded videos

– Deliver training verbally in live sessions

What about personalization?

• Other ways we can facilitate personalization– Institute an official program to recognize:• Years of service• Most improved• Highest sales (per quarter)• Best Mentor• Best Customer Service

What about personalization?
