IT’S AN ELEMENT.

Carbon.

Chemical Reactions.

Photosynthesis: 6CO2+ 6H2O(+ light energy)–›C6H12O6+ 6O2.

Respiration: C6H12O6+ O2–›CO2+ H2O (+ energy). Decomposition: (CH2O)+ O2–›CO2+ H2O.

Carbon Reservoirs.

Examples of Carbon Reservoirs:The oceans. The atmosphere. The biosphere. The soil. Carbon sediments.

Pathway of Movement.

A Little Song for Me & You

Carbon is an element, that much we know.Carbon is an element, & this is how it flows.

Carbon starts in the atmosphere&dissolves into the sea, where it enters marine food webs that feed you&me.

Carbon then becomes deposits of stoneit turns into fossil fuels, that power the cars we own.

Through photosynthesis, plants gain energywhich in turn feeds us, and the animals that we see.

When we & animals breathe, carbon is released.Without respiration, our breathing would cease.

Next comes decomposition, animals are broken down-through this process, carbon enters the ground.

Thank you for listening to our little song.We hope it helped you learn how Carbon flows along!

Human Impact.

Global Warming.Deforestation.Desertification.Transportation.
