VOC’s
Emissions that occur during the loading, discharging and storage of petrochemical liquids contain ‘VolatileOrganic Compounds’ (VOC). Some of these VOC emissions from petrochemical are classified as toxic, carcinogenic or teratogenic. These emissions represent a significant contribution to air pollution especially inand around urban areas. Throughout the world legislative authorities are increasingly focusing on thedetrimental effect of these VOC emissions.
The System
The conventional technology for the treatment of VOC at low concentrations is generally oriented to heatingburners (mainly RTO’s), where the VOCs are treated for about 1-1.5 seconds at a temperature above 850°C,using support gas for the heating process. This method involves a very large consumption of energy which
has a negative impact on the daily operational costs.
IPCO Power introduces the, which can reach high levels of auto-thermal
processes, allowing to treat the airflow, withoutexceptional operation costs. The ECOVOC uses highlyspecific catalysts for the oxidation of VOCs into CO and
H O. The temperature required for reaction is lower
( than that of conventional heatingburners.
Theduration of treatment of polluted air is considerablylonger than heating burners, which explains the hugedifferences in efficiency.

ECOVOC Catalytic OxidationSystem
350°C - 470°C)On an average the ECOVOC uses 70% less
energy than a RTO with the same capacity.
During the Catalytic Oxidation energy in the form of heat can be recovered. The ECOVOC is fully automated.
The system will adapt to changes in flow andconcentrations instantly. All operations are remotelymonitored and alarms are reported.
The ECOVOC is designed to be mounted outside. Thesystem is pre-assembled so the system can be up andrunning 2 days. The ECOVOC requires on average nomore than 15 m3 of support gas during start up and nomore than 3 m3/h at full capacity (5000 m3/h).

How does it work:
The basic principle is the oxidation of the saturated airflow, through high-performance catalysts, whichenables a rapid exothermic reaction. The oxidation process occurs in successive stages, to ensure highefficiency of conversion.
