iNTRODUCTION

• Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 has an improved design environment, new layout and design tools, templates, and improved themes— all created to help you realize your Web site vision without requiring any knowledge of HTML.

What Is an ms FrontPage?

•was a WYSIWYG HTML editor and web site administration tool from Microsoft in line with the Microsoft Offices.

• FrontPage was initially created by the Cambridge, Massachusetts company Vermeer Technologies Incorporated, evidence of which can be easily spotted in filenames and directories prefixed _vti_ in web sites created using FrontPage.

•Microsoft FrontPage has since been replaced by Microsoft Expression Web and SharePoint Designer, which were released in December 2006.

Microsoft SharePoint Designer

• This application will allow business professionals to design SharePoint-based applications.

Microsoft Expression Web

• is targeted for web design professionals who create full-blown web sites.

Improved work environment and larger design area

• It centralizes all of the Web design features and gives you a panoramic view of your entire Web site, making site and page design easier than ever. The larger design area also reduces scrolling.

Layout tables and cells

• You can create professional-looking Web page layouts by using layout tables and cells. A layout table is the framework you create for your page. Layout cells are regions within that framework that contain the content in a page, including text, images, Web parts, and other elements.

STANDARD TOOLBAR

A toolbar that performs some of the most

common tasks in a Microsoft Office

application such as opening, saving and

printing.

FORMATTING TOOLBAR

It is use for editing/

changing the characteristics of a text/image.

WEB SITE AND DOCUMENT TAB

This tab provide easy access to the Web site

and Web pages

TASK PANE

– it provides options

related to the

current task.

Usually this is the Working area. You

enter text and graphics here

•A toolbar that provides some auto shapes, lines and even word art.

• You can design and edit Web pages in the default Page view — Design view. This view provides you with a WYSIWIG 

Split tab

• You can design and edit Web pages and at the same time you can see the source code of your web page.

Code tab

• You can purely view the HTML tags yourself. With

the optimized code features in FrontPage, you

can create clean HTML, and it is easier for you to

remove any code that you do not want.

Preview tab

• You can see approximately how the page will look in the Web browser without having to save your page.

Use this view to check small changes before you

commit to them.
