Introducing cricket farming at household level for food security and income generation in rural Kenya, to increase the availability of inexpensive but high-protein foods and to educate farm families on how to generate income from cricket farming through value chain marketing and value adding to the farm produce.

The global food crisis and malnutrition would be solved if poor families had access to inexpensive food items produced at the household level. The environment would also improve through reducing livestock farming and increasing farming of edible insects.
