What is HTTP??• HTTP means “HyperText Transfer Protocol) is

for Web Pages. This is the command that instructs the browser to go to a particular web page and is followed by webpage`s URL.

What is URL???• URL is an abreviation of “Uniform Resource

Locator”, that is the global address of documents and other resources on the World Wide Web.

What is Homepage???• It is the first web page you see when you

open your web browser, it is also often uses to describe the main page for a business, organization, person, etc.

What is Browser???• It is a program or tool that enables you to

browse or surf World Wide Web, and view internet sites.

Types of Browser…• Internet Explorer

• Mozilla Firefox

• Safari

• Netscape Navigator

What is Download???• It is to transfer information or a file from

another computer into your computer.

What is Bandwidth???

• It is the amount of information that can be transferred through your internet connection.

What is ISP??• ISP stands for “Internet Service

Provider”.

What is Modem???

• It is a device that enables a computer to send and recieve information over a telephone line. You need a modem to connect to internet.

What is Hardware and Software??• Hardware: The physical equipment or touchable

parts of a computer system (The CPU, the keyboard, etc.)

• Software: It is a general term used to describe the role that computer programs, procedures and documentation play in a computer system.

What is Firewall??• It is a specialized hardware or software

designed to prevent unrestricted or unauthorized access into or out of a computer network.

What is WWW??• World Wide Web: A hypertext information

system consisting of a network of a web page which runs on the Internet and can be accessed with a browser.
