GENERAL OVERVIEW

• Lighting is the most important factor in interior design

• Expensive materials & interiors are never shown to their fullest without a good lighting scheme behind them

• Incorporating Lighting as part of the scheme considering how the light works with the materials and finishes and creating different moods within the space is essential to a successful interior

TYPES OF LIGHTING

AMBIENT LIGHTING• Can brighten and enhance the glow of the rooms

• Lanterns and wall fixtures can render an ambient lighting effect

• Using dimmer switches can also change the ambiance of the room to achieve the desired look and feel

ACCENT LIGHTING• Accent lighting or Architectural lighting is used to highlight walls and objects in the room

• Too much light Glare

• ✔ Need to have a balance

• A room without shadows will look flat and shapeless, shadows and contrast will enhance textures, shapes, and the size of objects in the interior
