Insulation rebates

• In few houses peoples don’t get moderate weather all around in upstairs they will get some type of weather and in ground floor they will get some weather it wont be standard it may varies and for this purpose we will use insulation rebates.

• Homeowners can receive rebates on qualifying energy at home after the insulation of rebates at their respective place.

Common Type of Insulation

There are some common type of insulation are available in attic they are as follows.

• Fiberglass or mineral wool batts and rolls.

• Medium- or high-density fiberglass batts

• Loose fill cellulose, fiberglass, mineral wool or vermiculite

Standard density batts and rolls

• Batts and rolls are made of fiberglass or mineral wool• Rolls are normally 16 to 100 feet in length. • Batts are precut to specific lengths.• Both fiberglass and mineral wool batts are fire and moisture resistant. They are available with or without a vapor barrier facing.• Some batts are wrapped in plastic for easy handling. This

plastic has small holes, so it is not a vapor barrier.

Medium- and high-density batts

• Medium- and high-density fiberglass batts offer more insulation value for a given thickness than standard fiberglass.

• They are often used in cathedral ceilings and sidewalls

Loose-fill

• Loose fill insulation comes packaged in bags.

• Loose fill is either blown with a machine or poured from the bag directly into the attic

• Blowing in insulation is faster and offers better coverage. You can rent equipment to blow in loose fill, but most people hire an insulation contractor.

• Loose fill is better than rolls or batts for attics with irregular joist spacing or with many obstructions.

Air Sealing

• Minimizing air movement in and out of a house is key to building an energy-efficient home.

• Controlling air leakage is also critical to moisture control.

• The most common air barrier material is house wrap, which is wrapped around the exterior of a house during construction.

• Sealing all the holes and seams between sheet goods such as drywall, sheathing, and subflooring with durable ,tape, and foam sealants will reduce air leakage.

• Using one of these techniques can significantly reduce air leakage to help improve a home's energy efficiency.

Vermiculite attic insulation

• Vermiculite is a naturally occurring mineral which expands into a very lightweight material when heated.

• Vermiculite pellets were commonly used to insulate attics until the 1990’s.

• vermiculite was thought to be harmless, and indeed in its pure state there are no health risks posed by vermiculite.

• f you need to do a ceiling renovation that requires insulation to be moved or removed, hire a licensed asbestos insulation removal company to test, and if necessary remove, the vermiculite attic insulation

Attic ventilation

• Most building codes require roof vents to expel moisture in winter which could deteriorate insulation or other building materials.

• In summer, ventilation may reduce roof and ceiling temperatures, thus saving on cooling costs and lengthening the roof's life.

• Attic ventilation is beneficial for all climates

Attic insulation techniques• Loose-fill or batt insulation is typically installed in an attic. For

batts with attached vapor retarders, put the backing next to the ceiling finish.

• Although installation costs may vary, blowing loose-fill attic insulation .

• fiberglass, Rockwool or cellulose is usually less expensive than installing batts and provides better coverage.
