The Oregon Council proudly presents the 2012 Northwest Fly Tyer & Fly Fishing Expo. This Expo marks the 24th year we have been hosting this event. Its growth and success is attributed to the enormous number of volunteers, tyers, and participating vendors that put forth their effort to improve the Expo every year. Please take some time to read what we are all about.

Who we areOregon Fly Fishing Clubs are the Oregon Council. Each FFF club in Oregon has the opportunity to hold a seat on the Oregon Council Board of Directors. These board members are the decision makers that represent the 625 FFF Members in the state of Oregon.

Our MissionThe mission of the Oregon Council Federation of Fly Fishers is to Improve Fly Fishing in Oregon by providing information to fly fishers, to improve their skills by preserving and expanding fly fishing opportunities and by improving fish habitat.

What we doThe Oregon Council of the Federation of Fly Fishers continues to host The Northwest Fly Tying & Fly Fishing Expo, www.nwexpo.com, every year, on the 2nd weekend in March. It is deemed the largest fly tying and fly fishing Expo in the west. This widely successful event generates funds to give back to clubs

and other non profit groups for their conservation and education projects. We are focused on youth education activities and issue 2 education grants to our up and coming graduate students at Oregon State University.

GoalsTo cultivate and advance the art, science and sport of fly fishing as the most sporting and enjoyable method of angling and the way of fishing most consistent with the preservation and use of game fish resources.

Activities• We provide services to individuals, fishing clubs, associations, leagues, or other organizations of anglers, and organizations concerned with the conservation of recreational resources.

• We educate anglers in improvements in the techniques of fly fishing, fly tying, casting and related angling subjects.

• We maintain a liaison with other organizations of anglers and conservationists and with governmental agencies concerned with the sport of angling, and keep its members informed of developments of interest to the membership.

• We provide an annual event (Northwest Fly Tying & Fly Fishing Expo) to encourage networking, education and creative thinking among anglers, fly fishing industry suppliers, services, conservation groups, support groups and friends.

• The Oregon Council has taken a very active role on the FFF National Board of Directors and Committees such as the newly formed FFF Museum Committee that oversees the hundreds of items in our collection.We also have members of our council board on the FFF National Fair Committee for 2012. This close networking of our council with FFF National is one of our top priorities.
