What is an eKit?
Arrived!
In December 2008, Oracle University began to phase in “eKits” to students enrolled in some of OU’s top classes.
An eKit is an electronic version of the course manuals OU currently provides to students. Under the new eKit program, Oracle University course manuals, formerly printed out on paper, will be replaced by
searchable Adobe PDFs.
Note - All of the information taught in the course will remain the same. The only change is the format the course manual is
presented in. It’s a good thing!
Types of eKits
• Dynamic watermarking at download
• Student eKit
• Visible watermark
• Watermark includes name of student and email on every page
• No cut and paste
• Ability to print
• The student eKit should be used only by the student and it is non transferable.
• Classroom eKit
• Smaller watermark
• Ability to cut and paste
• No print
• This kit is ONLY for classroom use and is not to be downloaded or copied by the student.
Reasons for eKits
• Improved Student Experience
• Ability to address corrections quickly to course
material
• Supports Oracle’s “Green” initiatives

be preferred depending on the
number of open windows
required

have windows automatically
tile the windows for you

This new method of delivering electronic copies of our courseware to our customers
continues to keep OU at the forefront of the training industry. As the Delivery arm of
OU, eKits presents us with the opportunity to showcase OU's ongoing commitment to
invest in new technologies while we act in a environmentally responsible manner. OU
prints 100 million pages of courseware each year. While eliminating the
environmental impact this has, we are also able to take advantage of the ability to
provide our customers with courseware that is portable, searchable and that enables
us to include new assets such as live links to websites, online help and
documentation as well as flash demos.
