Microsoft prides themselves in have a very global outreach in the market. Geographically, they are located in many different countries. With this in mind Bill Gates once said Microsoft's goal were, "key visions for the company was to "to get a workstation running our software onto every desk and eventually in every home. Because of their huge market share in home and business operating systems, they play an important role in the economics of software." They set up a global market when they do things like this. They also spread out their services into different markets. Microsoft markets computer hardware such as their own mouse, and products such as Xbox, Xbox 360, and Zune. Their business segmentation is therefore a very diverse and good one.

MS-DOS (/ˌɛmɛsˈdɒs/ EM-es-DOSS; short for Microsoft Disk Operating System) is an operating system for x86-based personal computers

In 1980 Gates, Allen and Ballmer made a new OS that serves to bridge The gap between the computer hardware and programs such as word processor & they name their new OS “MS-DOS”
