Imagine what India would look like in another 35 years, that is, in 2050?

Could it be the world's most powerful nation?

Or the world leader in the fields of science, technology and medicine?

Or home to the most passionate,driven and successful entrepreneurs?

LET'S FIND OUT!

It is expected that by 2050, India will overtake China to top the list of the most populous countries and these countries will represent about 50% of the

total population.

This means that India would have to stretch its already insufficient resources to fight poverty, hunger, illiteracy and disease to support all the

needs of the rising population.

Women will take the lead in the workforce by the half-century. Their presence will increase steadily

in traditionally male-dominated fields such as engineering and the corporate sector.

With more and more people working towards educating the girl child, there would be no difference between

a man and a woman by the middle of the century.

A woman would be just as valuable as a man, and gender-based division of labour and female infanticide would be a thing of the past!

India could turn into a green nation if its cities adopt a sustainable, renewable-energy-based economy.

The use of solar energy and wind energy, alternatives to plastics and raising awareness about eco-friendly living must be prioritised to achieve

this goal.

Newspapers and magazines would disappear with massive advancement in technology. Every child,

youngster, parent and grandparent would be hi-tech and everything from education to grocery shopping

would be computerised.

China will overtake the US to become the world's largest economy by 2020, which in turn will be

overtaken by India in 2050, according to the Wealth Report by Knight Frank & Citi Private Bank.

The wealth report says Mumbai and New Delhi will rank among the top 20 global cities in the next decade in terms of economic activity, political

power, quality of life, and knowledge and influence.

There will also be a steep rise in the number of entrepreneurs and start-ups as more and more

youngsters have turned to being their own bosses as opposed to working for/under a firm.

Yes there will be challenges!

But let's do our very best to realise the dream of making India THE future...

... a nation that drives change in the world and one that stands taller than the Himalayas

in all its pride and glory.
