Summer Career Camp
University of Alberta Career Centre
We're calling on young people to be part of an exciting summer adventure by joining the University of Alberta Career Centre for a week dedicated to getting them unstuck so they can jump-start their career journey. At this camp, we’ll let them in on a secret: choosing only one career for the rest of their life isn't realistic. Together, we will challenge this traditional career model and help them explore their options. Participants from last summer’s camp experienced a 20% increase in optimism about their career, a 65% increase in knowledge about researching careers, and a 71% increase in identifying next steps in their career. Their favorite part of camp was spending a day visiting workplaces and interacting with the professionals who worked there. This is a week dedicated to widening perspectives, discussing career management, and mapping out their next few actionable steps.
Summer Career Camp Monday, July 4 to Friday, July 8, 2016 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. University of Alberta, North Campus $300 + GST
Registration deadline: Monday, June 20 at 11:59 p.m. Space limited to 35 students. To register or to learn more, visit: http://www.caps.ualberta.ca/Programs-and-services/Summer-Career-Camp.aspx The 2016 Summer Career Camp Team

FILM SCREENING ABOUT
KIDS AND TECHNOLOGY The Coronation School Council is hosting a free screening of the
documentary film “Screenagers”.
Sunday, june 5 6:00-8:00pm
North glenora community hall
13535 109A Ave.
“In SCREENAGERS, as with her award-winning documentaries on mental health,
Physician Delaney Ruston takes a deeply personal approach as she probes into the
vulnerable corners of family life, including her own, to explore struggles over social
media, video games, academics and internet addiction. Through poignant, and
unexpectedly funny stories, along with surprising insights from authors,
psychologists, and brain scientists, SCREENAGERS reveals how tech time impacts
kids’ development and offers solutions on how adults can empower kids to best
navigate the digital world and find balance.” www.screenagersmovie.com
This event is free and all parents and community members are invited. Coronation
School Council is covering the cost of the licencing fee. Free babysitting will also be
provided.
