Setting up an image path
Create a folder on a Network drive called Windfall Images. This is where all the images will be saved in order to be displayed within Windfall (FIG 1) You can create separate folders for customers or just one folder for all customers
Open Windfall Click on the customer icon on the tool bar at the top of the screen (FIG 2) A list of customers will appear Double click on one of the customers Click on the configuration tab Click on the last tab other This is where the Image Path belongs Next to the image path is a browse button (…) Click on it The Specify Directories window will appear Locate the folder that was created for that customer, click the ok button to close the window and display it in the
Image Path field. (In order to get the images out to the web you will have to replace the drive letter with the drive name) This tells Windfall where to look for the images for this customer Example of an Image path- \\PUBLIC\PROGRAM FILES\WINDFALL IMAGES\CUSTOMER NAME
Click on the save icon on the toolbar at the top of the screen when finished (FIG 3)
Setting up image prompt on scanner
In Windfall select a customer (FIG 4) Click on the configuration tab Check the image prompt box
This will give you the image prompt on the scanner to take a picture If you are working in wireless mode the scanner is finished and ready to take pictures If you are working in batch mode you will need to connect the scanner and do a data transfer Once the data transfer is finished the scanner is finished and ready to take pictures
Adding images to current inventory Go into the customer screen (FIG 5) Click on the inventory tab Once in inventory click on the Detail 2 button In the lower right corner you will see a spot for an image Click on the browse button next to Image name The “select image” box will pop up, this will give you a list of images that are in the folder the image
path is pointing to Select an image to attach to the inventory piece, click the ok button Once this is finished the image will appear in the lower right corner of the window
Extras To add multiple images to an inventory piece use a PDF (FIG 6)
The PDF must be saved in the same file that the image path points to for the images There can only be one PDF attached to an inventory piece
Images going out to the web that are not taken by the scanner cannot be larger than 700kb. If the images are any larger they may not appear, or they will appear distorted.
