50 states

Idaho

• 'Idaho, land of potatoes'. This could be a summary of Idaho, but actually there's more: Besides being the national champion in the production of the famous legumes, Idaho is also one of America's leaders in planting wheat in the production of electronic items, computer, processed foods and chemicals. Still, tourists arriving to spacious lands Idaho perceive almost nothing about it.

Idaho is one of 50 states in the United States, located in the region of the Rocky Mountain states. Is limited to the north by the Canadian province of British Columbia, south to Nevada and Utah, east to Montana and Wyoming, and west to Washington and Oregon. Idaho currently has the sixth highest rate of population growth among U.S. States, only behind Nevada, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, and Utah. With a little over 216,000 km quadrates, is the 14th largest U.S. state in area of the country.

The Territory of Idaho was formed in 1863, and elevated to the State in July 3, 1890, becoming the 43rd U.S. state to enter the Union Republican party rules the state since 1995.

Sightseeing Tours

Next picture the street giving access to downtown Twin Falls, south of the city state. It is interesting to note that in almost all American cities, even the interior, we find the same chain stores, restaurants, hotels and so on.

• One of the most beautiful places in the state is located in Stanley Redfish Lake, in the center of the state. This lake situated next to a pine forest at the base of the mountains is one of the busiest points of Idaho for lovers of fishing, diving and sailing. It should be remembered, however, that this is not a place where water sports can be practiced throughout the year, as the winter here is extremely cold, with temperatures that can reach 20 degrees below zero Fahrenheit during January and February.

The building shown is the State Capitol, seat of the chamber. Built in 1905, it is the dominant construction of the city and its residents have pride that is the only Capitol (virtually the entire capital of the U.S. state has a building in this style) which provides natural heating, thanks to the hot springs of the place.
