In order to face the challenges of global competitiveness, the teaching-learning methodologies used in the higher education institutions must be modern and innovative to make them to be considered as ‘world class.’
World class professionals are those who adopt creativity, innovation and continuous learning as the success tools to reach their goals and who keep pace with the knowledge explosion taking place around them and constantly update their skill sets and competencies.
To produce such world class professionals, one of the tools is STEM Education!
Significance of STEM Education

It’s more important than ever for our youth to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to solve tough problems of everyday life.
Students must be prepared for any path they choose in life, whether it is directly into a STEM career or studying a specialized STEM field in college/university
“It is an approach to the world, a critical way to understand and explore and engage with the world, and then have the capacity to change that world”
Significance of STEM Education (Contd.)

It is estimated that by 2018, 8.65 million employees in STEM-related jobs will be needed, globally!
The average advertised starting salary for entry-level STEM jobs is 25 percent higher than jobs in the non-STEM fields
Problem-solving and developing quick and cost-effective solutions on the go are what industry is seeking in the next-generation workforce.
