Who Are We?
• International Christian development organisation.
• Prime purpose is to improve the quality of life of the world’s poorest persons with disabilities.
• We seek to prevent and treat health conditions which lead to impairment and disability.
• We promote and provide opportunities for social inclusion, economic empowerment, and livelihood security.

Where Have We Come From?
• 1908: Christoffel Blinden Mission was founded by Pastor Ernst Christoffel
• 1989: CBM is recognized by the WHO as a professional organisation
• 2002: Advisory status for the Economic and Social Council of the UN
• 2003: First international lobbying initiative starts with a permanent office in Brussels
