hyperion 9.x installation

Pre-requisites for sql server 2005 and plannning

• Windows 2003 server sp2

• Internet Information Services (IIS) windows component. (also used for planning)

• dotnet 2.0 frame work

• Free space around 10 gb

Database creation

• After successful completion apply sp2 patch.• Change your Sql server properties to Mixed

mode authentication.• Then create a Login named admin in sql

server.give him sqlserver authentication.• Create a database (for ex ‘sysdata’).• Create user named admin using above login

admin with db_owner permission• create user admin in windows environment

assign him to administrators group. (This user different from sql)

Shared services

• After succesful install select the launch config utility

Essbase srever

• Just start essbase server from start->hyperion->essbase->essbase

• Click on it and give details• Comp name:hyperion• Name as admin• Password as password• We can see some sample applications were

created.• Stop server by typing exit• Go to configuration manager and follow that task

shown below

• We can access EAS through browser also

• The link is

To run this we need java runtime environment on over system

Essbase client install

• Just normal installation all clicking next until finish

Eas installation

• Clicking next until finish• Select launch configure utility (Continue through

configure utility)• After eas install start eas server service• Open eas console by admin/password• Select essbase server in left pane• Select action create essbase server from menu bar• Give the system name at server name ,user name admin

and password as password reconfirm it• You can see some sample applications under that server

Creation planning application

• After completing the installation hyperion planning, start the shared services, log on to shared services through console and grant the dimension editor and application creator role to admin user.

• Go to user directories: Assign above roles to admin.• After granting roles admin, Before log on to app wizard

start planning service and then log on app wizard window and create new application.you can acces app wizard by following link.

Accessing planning application

• After creating application log on to planning web through

http://localhost:8300/HyperionPlanning

Note: Log in with user admin.
