What does this mean ? • Competition will be intense• Malaysia will be challenged – Within ASEAN, China• Traditional markets will not look as good • This will impact our personal income – How will organizations pay your salaries if their incomes

are reduced• Can we become a higher income nation ? • Do we produce a new generation of leaders that can

compete globally ?

Where is Malaysia’s wealth? • Services (56%) – things we sell to ourselves• Manufacturing (28%) – things we sell outside – but which MNC really keep for themselves. No distribution of

income. – The buyers don’t have much money anymore – Cheaper places to manufacture

• Agriculture (7 %) – That thing call Palm Oil• Government – They make things stay afloat by pumping

money into the economy . But how long can this go on ?
