Tardies – be on time! 1st Time: Warning

BUT: If you are on time all quarter, you can earn 1 – 5 points on your final grade.

Cheating

Will not be tolerated. You will receive a discipline form.

Protractor

Homework

You are expected to complete your homework assignments. The next day, I will check to see who has completed theirs. If you have not:

1st time: Warning

2nd time: Lunch Duty

3rd time: Phone call to parents

Recuperation

You will be allowed to recuperate a test or quiz ONLY under the following conditions:

1. You have taken notes and paid attention in class for all lessons prior to the test.

2. You have completed all homework assigned prior to the test.

3. You have attended a reinforcement session to review the concepts you missed before recuperation.

Time Frame

After you receive a test grade, you will have one week to attend a reinforcement session offered on Mondays. After attending a reinforcement session, you can take the recuperation test. Recuperations will not be permitted if the student does not complete the process within one week of receiving the original test grade.

Homework cannot be recuperated.

Late Assignments

On time = you are marked out of 100% (normal)

1 – 2 days late = the highest mark you can receive is 75%

3 days late = the highest mark you can receive is 50%

5 days late = the highest mark you can receive is 25%

Over 5 days late = you will receive a 1%

Cell Phones

At the beginning of each class, you will place your cell phone in the blue bin at the front of the room.

If you are caught with your cell phone, it will be taken from you and given to the office.

Spanish / English

Although I am your math teacher, part of my job is to help you improve your English skills. In order to do so, we will speak only English in our classroom.

If a student is having trouble understanding a math concept, another student may raise their hand and ask me if they can explain it in Spanish. This is OK.

Gum / Food / Water

Sorry, no gum allowed in class.

No food allowed in class either.

You may bring a water bottle to class.

Bathroom

You are old enough to know when you have to go to the bathroom – you don’t have to ask me.

However, you must take the bathroom pass with you and you cannot leave when I am teaching. It must be during independent working time.

If the bathroom pass is alreadytaken, you will have to waituntil it comes back.
