How to Make

Bullet Points

By Danielle Nocon

HANDS ABOVE YOUR HEAD!

Don't even THINK

about reaching for

those bullet points!

WHY?

Do you want

to be guilty of

causing Death by

PowerPoint?

I should think not!

But have no fear.

Making bullet points vanish does not

require voodoo.

simple steps:

Just follow these

3

Start

with a completely

blank slide. 1

Then,

think of the

bullet one point

you want to make

with that

slide.

2

Blogs are like sharks

Finally,

imagine a

visual representation

for that one

point.

3

Blogs are like sharks

Now, suppose you feel that each bullet

sub-point is important enough to

warrant its own slide.

Rinse and repeat

A shark must keep

moving or die.

A blog must be regularly

updated or it too will die.

How often should you

update your blog?

Some successful blogs

are updated once a

week, others several

times a day.

The key is to be consistent.

Finally, let's try

something a bit

more challenging.

This made me sad

because I nearly

missed learning

about fascinating

and important

developments in the

realm of organizational

leadership – due in great

part to a dull PowerPoint.

See for yourself…

This slide is covered from 4:24 to 8:47.

Now, let’s work

our magic.

The Power of

Appreciative

Inquiry

WHY

APPRECIATIVE

INQUIRY

WORKS

FREEDOM TO Be Known in Relationship

FREEDOM TO Be Heard

FREEDOM TO Dream in Community

FREEDOM TO Contribute

FREEDOM TO Act with Support

Be Positive FREEDOM TO

The preceding example was inspired by

Now you try.

Remember…

1 Start with a blank slide

2 Think of one point

3 Imagine a visual

And never feel like you have to fight

those bullet points alone.
