How did you use media

technologies in the construction

and research, planning and

evaluation stages?

Research and Planning• I used the internet for the

majority of my research

• Once I had chosen the slasher genre I was able to go onto YouTube and look up other slasher trailers for successful films. This helped as I could see various techniques that they used in the trailer. I also looked up posters for these films to see what colour schemes and layouts they used.

Poster Research• To do research into posters I used google images• This allowed me to look at a lot of posters at once

and get a good idea of running themes

Websites• I used WordPress to look at previous students

blogs to see what they done for their research and planning to help me figure out what to do next.

• I could also use there feed back that they got to see what worked and didn’t work for them.

• Another website that I found useful was survey monkey. This allowed me to put up a questionnaire that anyone could fill out. The website also put the results into a graph so I didn’t have to do it manually in Microsoft Excel.

Construction• During the construction I was using much more

advanced technologies meaning I had to research how to use them.

• The main two being Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro

• I had never used a video editing software like Premiere Pro before so I used YouTube to find out how to do certain things.

• The more I used it the easier it got though.

Evaluation• I mainly used PowerPoint for my evaluation and

uploaded it to Slide Share then embedded it into my blog.

• I also uploaded my trailer to YouTube and embedded that into my blog as well
