ost*6i"il war industriali+ation in the U# was a part process# 7and was a &ig part
of the industriali+ation process# 0he resources that the U# had access too was
immense# 7arge amounts of iron, coal, tim&er, and oil left "ery &ig opportunities for
growth# 0he la&or force with the increasing population allowed there to &e an enormous
pool of people to go into the wor%force# 0hese people also had a &etter life e'pectancy
than e"er &efore# Gith immense immigration, there were more than enough people to
meet the demands needed of the la&or force# 0he money in"ested in the stoc%
e'change and financiali+ation capitol allowed people to ma%e money out of nothing#
3an%ee ingenuity was the fourth part of the process# 3an%ee 2ailroaders were good at
&usiness, they made a ton of money doing it and put tons of capitol into the U#
economy allowing it to grow#
.ow U# industriali+ation connected to la&or is that it thri"ed off a growing
wor%force# 8any people were immigrating into the U# to profit off the growing
opportunities that came with the &uilding of railroads, factories, and thri"ing cities# $ut
this also had a dar%side# mmigrants had a "ery difficult time getting used to li"ing in the
U#, and the wor% they could get was su&par at &est# Gith these new opportunities
came new industry# $ut there were no real standards set in place for these things# 7i"ing

coming in, million strong &ecause of the selecti"e ser"ice act# African American
units were &ro%en up to &ac% up e'isting units on e'isting fronts# American units
replenished and &oosted the morale of the e'isting allies# t de"ol"ed into trench
warfare where men had to rush o"er no mans land past machine guns to o"erwhelm
the opponents trenches# ermany was run down Juite significantly, and finally an
armistice was called on the 11th day, 11th month, and 11th hour, of 1>1?# 0hey were
e'tremely e'hausted on all fronts and dealing with a huge economic collapse# After
this the 0reaty of Qersailles was drawn up, hea"ily punishing the ermans for the
war#
U# was credited a lot more for GG1 than they really did do# 0he U# created the
final push, &ut if they had &een there from the &eginning things could ha"e &een "ery
different# , troops died from the U#, &ut many more died from the other allies
in"ol"ed in the war# GG was a giant domino affect of alliances and competition#
8any new in"entions were made in this time, li%e the hated erman su&marines, the
