Through systematic design by our researchers, Hartford's Mercury series not only meets the demands of our customers, but also outperforms competitors through high acceleration, superior performance, and long-term accuracy. The ergonomic design has led to a paragon of next-century processors and higher operating profits.
Extra wide, massive slideways are hardened and precision
ground, combined with extra long slideway connections ensur-
ing vibration free traverse of the headstock.
High performance servo motor is directly coupled to preloaded
ballscrew with the use of high precision bearings. Pre-drawn
screw and bearings eliminate backlash while upgrading
machining rigidity and accuracy.
The counter-balance weight is properly guided to eliminate
vibration while moving along Z-axis, and prevents interference
with machining accuracy.

Low friction Turcite-B is coated on the mating surfaces of all
slide ways by precision hand scraping.
Extremely robust base design with 4-axis ways, both VMC-1600
