MIGRATION – ONE FAMILY AMONG MILLIONS

Migration has affected my own response to the essential human questions:

Who am I? Where am I from?

History provides the threads woven into the fabric of identity.

A POEM TO MARY

Mary travelled from Glasgow, Scotland, to Dunedin, NZ in 1868.

This poem was presented by her girlfriends before she left Scotland.

The sense of hope for her new life is bittersweet alongside the knowledge that she would be unlikely to see her homeland again.
