GUO YIXIU

CREATIVE STATEMENT

Currently a Photography Major at Nanyang Technological University, Guo had previously graduated from Nanyang Junior Collegeʼs Art Elective Programme, with a Fine Arts Background, specialising in painting photorealistic paintings. She was awarded the Gold with Honors award in the 2008 Singapore Youth Festival Arts and Craft Exhibition , along with the Representational Catergory award winner title in the 27th UOB Painting of the Year Competition. Her voyage into Photography involves working with film and darkroom processes, and most recently experimenting with digital imaging techniques. Guo is intrigued with ideas concerned with life and death, and seeks constantly to question her own sense of being.
