What is Green Schools?Green-Schools internationally known as Eco-

What have we done so far??
Last year the Green Schools committee made progress on reducing the waste produced by the centre. This year we are going to continue their work to try and limit the waste to minimal by
introducing the new bins and waste monitoring system.
Mick got us new metal frame bins with clear organic bags to replace the old plastic ones. This will help
us with monitoring the waste. The monitoring system is to regularly check if the students and staff
are throwing rubbish into the correct bins.
Our New Bins System!!!
Location of Bins and Signage
The new bins for General Waste and Recycling are located in the hallway, two across from the IPad
Room and two across from the Textiles Room. There is a Compost bin in the Kitchen, one in the
Canteen and one in the Staff Room.
There are three information sheets hung up around the centre which say what goes into each bin. Also other than that there are signs over the bins to tell you whether their General Waste, Recycling or
Compost.
Our main goal for this year
We are hoping that thanks to the new bins and the monitoring system, we will manage to reduce the landfill waste produced by the centre to minimal.
Further Plans Continue work on the notice board in the
canteen Reduce the use of printing paper
Organise more litter picking in Merlin Woods We are hoping to organise a trip to Barna
