The Founding Vision for Peace

WFWPI was officially inaugurated in 1992 with representatives from 70 nations. The mandate given to us at the time was very different than that of any other organization.

Each Founding Member was called to contribute their talents, mind, heart and creativity in a global mobilisation towards a Peaceful Culture that would involve changes in every field of life: politics, economy, culture and society.

In 1994, 1600 volunteers went to 160 nations to apply the new strategy that envisioned empowered women as the agents of change for healing and community building.

Planned Programs/ projects for 2014

• Dignity of Women program continue where successful• Continue/ upgrade monthly programs for capacity and skills development based on

DP and UT understanding • Approach local governments for partnership on issues, UN Day celebrations• Youth WFWP local leadership and aspiring young political leaders• Education for mothers• Prayer meetings, prayer conditions for special issues

Programs / projects planned for 2014

•Develop more specific educational programs (with FFWPU /UPF) based upon family ethics with explanation on role of mother•Continue to build on Bridge of Peace Programs/ reconciliation •Develop personal relationships with influential people•Seek active, real partnerships with similar thinking NGO’s, religious communities•Be bold to speak out pro-family, become experts on family (advocacy), be politically active in own communities•Create youth leadership programs, engage 2nd gen/ youth

WFWP Programs /activities proposed for 2014

• Become more strategically active at the UN venues in Europe and with EU institutions• Develop our Education Department and create educational materials• Become more prosperous as an organization, as families• Develop European membership strategy• Hold at least 2 -4 European events each year.
